Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
Team has to strike QB gold in the draft, where ever they draft.

Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
So who exactly was he supposed to grab from this magical tree of NFL QBs?
Could have drafted Ponder, Mallet, or maybe even Dalton. Hasslebeck and Palmer were there. A nice deal for Palmer would not have been so bad, although I wouldn't do it if I was a GM. The going to two QBs was also a dumb move, due to the history of both Beck and Grossman. Clemens could have been the one to surprise us all and we let him go. |

And was Clemens claimed by anyone or playing? There's a reason why he was cut, he sucked, he's as bad or worse than what the Redskins currently have. I seriously believe Shanahan has his eye on a QB coming out this year who he likes better than any from last years draft (at least that's what I want to believe). |

Ponder might have worked out for us, but then we don't have Kerrigan, Hankerson, Hurt, and Gomes. Dalton was picked at #35 and has quite the rapport with AJ Green. I guess he would have been alright, but at #16? Ehhh, most people would think Shanahan had lost it with such a reach. Mallett probably could have been taken at #62, which isn't a big reach. But then again, Mallett has been unable to prove anything one way or the other, unlike Dalton and Ponder. It's not like we got nothing when we passed up on one of the potential quarterbacks. Kerrigan, if he reaches his max potential, is a very valuable piece for a championship team in his own right since we have to handle opposing top tier QBs well. Of course we can't delay QB forever, but the compensation this time, seems pretty good. |
All I want to know is what happened to all the vitality and life displayed by this team the first 4 weeks of the season? Did they lose all their confidence? Have they been possessed by some sort of demonic entity? Or is there a hug rift within the coaching staff and/or player ranks?
This team looks dead, I have seen them this feeble and dead since Spurrier days and that's saying a lot give that our last coach was Zorn.
This is THE real issue, and there's only one real answer: a vacuum in leadership. This team isn't being coached, motivated, inspired. Period. |
Re: The Skins Are Really A Very Horrible Bad Team
What exactly would have been the rationale for signing Hasselbeck?
Hassleback has played in a west coast offense before once under Mike Holmgren. He currently has a 90.0 QB rating. Compare how he's playing now to how Rex Grossman and John Beck are playing. Hasselback is also a proven veteran that has guided the Seahawks to the playoffs a few times and went to one Super Bowl. The Redskins could have signed Matt Hasselback. If Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen signed this guy instead of going along with the comic relief notion that John Beck and Rex Grossman could actually play QB good enough to have a winning record, the Redskins would be at the very least be 5-4 right now. By the way, the Tennessee Titans, the team that Hasselback currently plays for, is 5-4 and very much in the hunt for a AFC wild card birth. |

Actually this is probably the biggest fail in regard to our QB situation...no mentor on the roster so in that regard we still need 2 QBs. |

Grossman: "Triple coverage! Sling it! SLING IT LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SLUNG IT BEFORE!" Beck: "The Book of Beck states that a checkdown pass to your RB is mandatory on third and long. When you've been preparing for as long as I have to be a starting qb these things come second nature." |

hey, maybe we won't have to trade for luck...

(program crashes) (you restart the program) "Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading..............Loading.............."
