Re: Cowher Talking to Skins about Job in '08?
It's true but he has been in the playoffs 2 out of 3 years.
Yeah, he has and I guess that's something to be proud of, even though he is 0-2 in said playoff games.
Plus, you guys made it to the post season with an 8-8 record last year, which really just goes to show how crappy the NFC was last season. (Of course that just makes me more pissed that we ended up with such a bad record.) I would think Eli would have to do better than .500 to justify losing out on a guy like Rivers and a pick that ended up being Shawne Merriman. |

Not because of him. It is despite of his play. If you all didn't have Tiki you dont make the playoffs the last 2 seasons, plus you dont beat us the last game of the season last year because in big time games, Eli CHOKES hard! He has not proven anything to put him as an elite quarterback. He is in the same boat as Jason Campbell. This is his season to prove that he is a leader at QB because no Tiki and Eli's current play= 4-6 win season and no more job for coughlin. |

Just give Tiki the ball and let him run for 1,234,345,435 yards. God I'm glade he's gone! |

I won't argue any of it which is why I posted the way I thought the divison would go.It's just not Eli and Tiki.........our O the whole team must stand up,I have questions about Eli ,the running game our Left Tackel, our Defensive Tackels our LBers and is that corner we drafted any good ,our coaching staff is under the gun .You tell me what should I be thrilled with right now? P.S and lets not forget we have(or will) a new Kicker! |

Re: Cowher Talking to Skins about Job in '08?
I don't think GW will finish his tenure here. His stock fell a little last year, and if he fields a good defense this season, teams will throw some money at him. The NFL is all about timing and striking while the iron is hot.
That being said, my gut tells me Williams won't wait for Gibbs to finish his last year, and another team makes Williams forget about the $1MM clause in his contract. Gregg Blache will eventually take over the defense.
He will split. A lot rides on the '07 campaign for GW and any chance of being the HC. I agree with you that I don't think he will stay here. None of the major preseason publications( S & S, Athlon's, or Sprting News) has us higher than 3rd in our division. IF that becomes a reality, it will because of zero pass rush, etc. GW will be toast and probably will not be considered top HC material, ending up with a team like the sorry ass Lions if they fire Marinelli and get him on the "cheap". I don't see Gibbs wasting time and sticking around either. A failure this season means that rebuilding will take 2-4 seasons( that sucks, but it probably is close to reality if we really stink this season). That is more time than Gibbs had anticipated. Cowher is a proven motivator and winner, a no nonsense type of guy that will be a nice follow up to Coach Gibbs. |
