Stay focused I hope you play well and you staying focused helps us win the game. Just a joke!!! I am confused why we as fans can't talk about the playoffs, the superbowl, etc.... I love the skins and bring my fan "A" game every weekend whether it is at the stadium or at home. The same will hold true this week as I watch and cheer from my home. I am flattered that some are worried about another fan getting ahead of themselves only to be hurt if we don't make the playoffs or talk of a playoff game causes us to loose. This forum I don't think has any outcome on this game though the force is strong my son! Skins will come to play and as much as we look ahead or talk about Lavar it is not handled the same in the Skins locker room I am sure. Go skins, beat the hell out of the Eagles and get us a playoff berth!

Exactly.

The entire defense getting jailed for posession of coke = distraction.

Polar ice caps melting and flooding the entire DC area = distraction.

Lots and lots and lots of strippers = distraction.

Lots and lots and lots of cheerleaders who dance like strippers = distraction.

Lavar making a few innocuous comments in a third-rate newsrag = barely a blip on the radar.

Let's keep some perspective and just move along.

I don't think LaVar's comments will distract the team come Sunday, hell it's probably not even distracting them now.

But you can bet this doesn't sit well with Gibbs and the rest of the staff. For a coach who is intent on keeping everything in-house, you just know that Gibbs cringed when the WT article came out.

The timing was bad, and there was simply no need for this kind of discussion to be occuring at this time of the season, bottom line, and I think we can all agree on that.

This LaVar thing is rediculous. Everyone wants to throw him out, fine! But when the guy comes in and plays a great game, I dont want to hear a word from you. You are a persons best friend after a great game and all over his ass when something goes wrong. Somebody asked him a question, he answered it. He says he wants to be here, its up to the team if he stays. What is distracting about that. Its been going on the whole damn season with LaVar. Everything he says or does is dragged out through the media, whats new! Who cares if he is here or not. We haven't won anything with him. However, people need to lay off the guy. He loves this team, city, and the fans. He is one of the loyal guys that you just dont see anymore. He has renegotiated his contract a couple of times for the benefit of this organization and team, as well as tried to drop the grievence over 6 million. Which the players union would not let be dropped. Not too many people would let 6 million dollars be dropped. We need to worry about the game coming up. Also, when was the interview done. Sometimes these interviews are done weeks, if not months before they are released.

I think this actually becomes more of a distraction when Gibbs even responds to it. Not that he did in any official way but clearly he didn't keep it a secret that he wasn't happy and that got out. It just keeps the story going rather than letting it die without fanfare. I don't know how much these tiny distractions actually distract but I think I speak for all of us in saying that we don't need anything to be a distraction at all right now. I would agree that this shouldn't be a big deal but god knows we'll be pissed if we find out half the players are mad at him and won't work effectively with him or something like that because of it. That's why these things need to be avoided. Not because they definitely cause distraction but because there's no good point to introducing anything that could even potentially be an issue. No matter how small that potential is.

It's obvious LaVar can do no wrong in your eyes. That's fine and to be expected from someone with #56 in your name.

What he does on the field and off are two seperate things. I love him as a player on the field, but some of his off the field comments annoy me. I just wish he would shut the hell up and play. He's an outspoken guy and that's ok, but there's a time and a place, and this week was not the time nor the place to be contemplating his future with the Redskins in the media.

Is it a huge deal? I really don't think so in the grand scheme of things. But all those little things add up, and if LaVar isn't here next year I think he has to take some of the blame. He's not an innocent victim here, despite the fact he always tries to play that role.

Dude, you just love to jump all over my ass. What part of my quote did you not understand. "I could care less if he is here or not, we haven't won anything with him" or did you skip over that part. I just said I like the guy, what the hell is wrong with that? You need to stop jumping on my ass everytime I say something. its getting old!! I can't like somebody, I like portis, I think hes a great person in the locker room, is there something wrong with that. Are his comments and costumes a distraction too!

Hey, everyone keep you feeling to yourself. I am sure this guy will misconstrue what you say and just down your throat and be a smart ass as usual.
