This just isn't the time for stupid crap like this to take place. I don't care who's at fault. Maybe Gibbs should have placed a gag order on the players talking to the media this week..who knows!?

You all may be underestimating Dan Snyder's opinion of LaVar.

LaVar was a pallbearer in his father's funeral a few years ago. Whether this was done out of some sense of obligation or not, I am of the opinion that it makes Snyder view LaVar as something more than an employee.

There's not even any point in discussing whether or not LaVar will be here next year. He's done as a Redskin. Everyone is making a very valid point about how it's cheaper to keep him, but when has dead cap space ever been a concern in Washington? Deion Sanders, Jeff George, Stephen Davis, Jeremiah Trotter, Laverneus Coles... any of those names ring a bell? Snyder could care less about dead cap money, especially when he's being called out by a player on his team.

So yes, LaVar will be gone after this season, and everyone will turn on him for wanting out of possibly the worst run team in the league(I'm talking about the front office, not the coaching staff), just like we turned on Champ Bailey, Fred Smoot, Antonio Pierce, and every other standout player who has left for valid reasons. And five years down the road, when the same thing has happened to Brunell, and probably Portis and Taylor, I'm sure we'll all have turned on them by then too. That's just the way we do it in Washington.

LaVar's timing couldn't have been worse, but that's water under the bridge now. Having said that, I agree with your assessment 100%. There's something very, very wrong with an organization where so many standout players have left angry and bitter at the club. When I say "organization", I'm not talking about the coaches. There's only been one constant during all these years of upheaval and loss of good players and that constant is the ownership of the team by Dan Snyder and the day-to-day running of things by his incompetent sycophants.

Again, I don't believe it was right for LaVar to air his discontent at this point in time. It can only hurt the team right now. But, it's very obvious that he is extremely frustrated, just as it was obvious for Champ, Antonio, Smoot and countless other exceptional players who left here in bitterness.

When Cooke owned the team, he was greatly respected, and even loved, by many of the players. I can't think of one player current or past who feels the same way about Snyder.

I feel bad for Joe because he's caught in the middle. He is paid by Snyder and, of course, has to remain loyal to the man. Yet, there's a part of me that believes Joe hates to lose good players and is troubled by the mismanagement of this team by Snyder and his cronies.

We all know how the media loves to try to stir up shit here in Washington. Hell MEDIA does nothing but do what the $%^& they want to do. I bet the ass who did that original miss informed piece is nothing more than a COWgirl/Gwoman fan. THE sadest shit of all is how many people believe that SHIT they right....

I really don't think this is something that's exclusive to the Redskins.

Look around the league and you'll see plenty of players who leave their former team feeling disrespected. It's part of the game in today's modern free agency era.

When players leave for more $$ elsewhere, of course they're going to have some bitterness towards their former team initially. Again, they feel disrespected and unappreciated.

I think at times we're so focused on just the Redskins we lose sight that many things that the Redskins go through, the rest of the league does too.

Cooke owned the team during a different era, it's apples and oranges.

i don't care if they locked lavar up in a cage, made him preform dances for the Big Dan, serve the players and feed him raw meat this was not the time to say this shit. It is a distraction and i don't care about the circumstances or that it isn't my life. He is a millioniare, hell the interview was given in his 20,000 sq ft. mansion. This isn't the time. Gibbs said that he wishes everyone in the town was focused on philly. Well with this shit i know that isn't gonna happen and it is not easy. Ofcourse it is a distraction. Lavar going into this game and thinking it might be his last game of his career(that is where he acts like a pre madonna)is a distraction.

Gibbs said ifanyone would say somehting like that now it is rediculous. So i will go by what gibbs said. It -being lavar- is rediculous. I road his band wagon to the ground. The thing is he does love the fans and we do love him. i don't know what the **** he is talking about. The fact is we can't cut him. Maybe he learned that the cap situation favors the redskins by a lot like the reporter said-6.5 million- and now is scared this might be his last game as a skin. If the cap is the way i think it is then lavar will be here next year and now NOW he has a problem with management. I think that he still is GREAT not good great and i don't need to saythat he is my favorite player anymore because he is LAVAR ARRINGTON the face of the redkins.

I just want him here next year playing for us with him mouth shut.

GoodNESS. If I buy you a beer will you calm the hell down?

The Washington Times is a poor excuse for a newspaper. They could've really capitalized on the strained relations between the Redskins and the Wash. Post, but they didn't, choosing instead to stick to sub-standard reporting.

Lavar is right - the timing of this article is deplorable. I believe him when he says that a writer can spin things to convey a certain point of view. Lavar is rightly concerned and frustrated about his future with the organization, but he's made it clear that its about winning the upcoming game first and making the playoffs.

Bottom line: a win against Philly, and all this will be forgotten (at least till our season ends).

Note to Jeremiah: You do not talk about our team and players. Since when are you a talent assessor and linebackers coach? Take your tail to the damp and cold NFC east cellar and live out the offseason.

Lavar Arrington will not have the same physical capabilities as he once did with the injuries he's suffered in the past years. It's pretty obvious if you look at what he's saying , but like any man with too much pride, he's attempting to blame somebody else for his own shortcomings. Lavar proves that he is not a true Redskin, despite the fact that he believes fans view him as some sort of Brett Farve or Ray Lewis, when he airs out his issues at the most inopportune time of the year.

For all that talk about Smoot, Bailey, Stephen Davis, etc.

I actually was pretty pleased with how Daniel Snyder dealt with them. Although Champ Bailey has done well for the Broncos, he has not been the one player to put them over the top. The two times the Broncos played the Colts in the playoffs, Manning and the passing attack ripped them apart. Snyder and the Front Office do deserve some criticism for giving up an additional 2nd round pick in the Bailey-Portis trade, instead of just going player for player.

Fred Smoot, although a decent cover corner, is a terrible tackler, and was not worth what he was asking for.

Stephen Davis was a key piece of the puzzle in the Panthers run in 2003, but Jake Delhomme, Steve Smith, and that defense played a Bigger role in their success that year. Davis did miss a few games that year as well, and the other RBs they had filled in just fine.

What Snyder has realized, with the help of Greg Williams, is that if you get average to above average players who have a passion for the game, and who initially sign very reasonable contracts, great coaching can make those players much better, and you can do well in this league since these players have a desire to win, and don't have the egos from all the money they are getting.

When we had all those big names, as soon as we reached 5-6, or 3-4, those players lost hope, and started criticizing the coaching staff and looking to next year. Not this team, and not with these players.

The only one person I wish we had kept was Antonio Pierce; I don't feel we handled that situation well by letting him go to a division rivial, but I was glad we didn't give Smoot and Bailey all the dollars they were asking for. I am tired of seeing Bailey pull up with a hamstring or some sort of injury everytime a receiver blows by him.

YOU GUYS HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! 1st and foremost the guy has really been the face of the franchise for years b4 the clinton's, taylor's, washington's,etc, I really believe that he deserves the benefit of the doubt not only because he speaks from his heart but the fact that it could be very frustrating for someone outside the organization (agents) help destroy his relationship w/ his boss. I truly believe that w/ clemons out we will truly see how much the owner and coaching staff think of him. To me he is one of the top two players on our team, i also believe for once the redskins and gibbs need to do the right thing! WHICH IS KEEP LAVAR AROUND! The dude is a stand up guy who is very humble, i think that i would be really disappointed if we didnt find a way to keep him around.

I just don't understand why people keep sticking up for him with his constant whining in the media.

I can understand his frustrations, but the guy needs to learn when to shut the hell up. The week of a huge game is not the time to be discussing your future with the team.

There will be plenty of time after the season for this. Now is not the time.
