paulskinsfan 12-27-2005, 07:45 PM First off let me say that I was away over the holiday weekend and Ive spent over an hour now trying to catch up on yet another great and, for me, unexpected beat down victory! I for one never thought the Skins could run the table, and I know they haven't yet, but their play over the past 4 weeks has surprised the hell out of me so God Bless you Joe Gibbs! I still think we need a GM, but no one can criticize your second season here. For me, the victories over the Cowboys made the entire season worthwhile, even if we don't make the playoffs, this year has brought back some pride to the burgundy and gold, so again thank you Joe.
NOW, here's the thing, Brunnell is hurt, he may play but he's hurt and Im worried. We all remember how horrible Brunnell was last year when he had a bad hamstring, if his legs are hurt he won't have the zip on his balls and he won't be accurate, and honestly, an inaccurate weak throwing Brunnell will get us buried. Sooooo, I say play Ramsey. If Ramsey plays well we might actually get a 3rd rounder for him in the offseason. A good outing for Ramsey helps this team IMMENSELY in the offseason. On the other hand, if Brunnell starts and its obvious that he reverts to last year's form then its going to be 8 men in the box to stop Portis, again, just like last year.
He's played with injuries all year, calf, hand, etc.
His knee isn't even that bad, I'm sure he'll be fine if he plays.
If you're waiting for Brunell of last year to show up, keep waiting cause it ain't gonna happen.
gibbsisgod 12-27-2005, 07:55 PM i think we can beat the eagles with ramsey starting. even if brunell is healthy i think gibbs should sit him for a week to get all rested up for our championship run.;)

You're right, he has played with injuries. But wasn't the hand injury on his non-throwing hand? The calf injury seemed really minor too, not like a knee injury. It just seems like his mobility and his ability to step into his throws may be limited, but I hope not.
44deisel44 12-27-2005, 08:44 PM Doesn't matter who starts. Our D will EAT philly alive!!!! As far as Ramsey playing well....been there done that.... i for 1 don't want our playoff hopes riding on a QB that has 3.5 quarters of experience this yr!!!!!!! Forget about what we MAY get 4 him. I think he is gone and unless he takes us through playoffs we wont get much 4 him.

I think you have lost track of why the game is played. It is not for the offseason and draft picks.
The true goal is to get to the playoffs and win the super bowl. You play your best players, the one's that have gotten you there. Not some guy on the bench because you want to get a better draft pick for him in the offseason.
I am not sure why Ramsey fans continue to bring up last year like that represents Brunells entire career. Here we are at 9-6 and one victory away from the playoffs and some are still putting down Brunnell.
I guess Ramsey's incredible track record and winning career in college and the NFL makes him the obvious better choice.

Rock on! But if Mark can't move around Ramsey should be able to take care of things. Gibbs is hoping Mark is up to start....
wheeler 12-27-2005, 10:01 PM the skins will start ramsey if brunell's leg is a compound fracture break ..other -wise brunell will be the Q B to take us to the playoffs:)

I think that has been the mentality of skins fans for the past decade. Since we haven't had much to play for in the past, we'd play for draft picks and offseason moves. This year, we're finally playing for the post season. You're right...you put the guys in that gotcha to this point.
dmek25 12-27-2005, 11:33 PM i dont give a damn who plays qback,as long as we get the win
