First off let me say that I was away over the holiday weekend and Ive spent over an hour now trying to catch up on yet another great and, for me, unexpected beat down victory! I for one never thought the Skins could run the table, and I know they haven't yet, but their play over the past 4 weeks has surprised the hell out of me so God Bless you Joe Gibbs! I still think we need a GM, but no one can criticize your second season here. For me, the victories over the Cowboys made the entire season worthwhile, even if we don't make the playoffs, this year has brought back some pride to the burgundy and gold, so again thank you Joe.

NOW, here's the thing, Brunnell is hurt, he may play but he's hurt and Im worried. We all remember how horrible Brunnell was last year when he had a bad hamstring, if his legs are hurt he won't have the zip on his balls and he won't be accurate, and honestly, an inaccurate weak throwing Brunnell will get us buried. Sooooo, I say play Ramsey. If Ramsey plays well we might actually get a 3rd rounder for him in the offseason. A good outing for Ramsey helps this team IMMENSELY in the offseason. On the other hand, if Brunnell starts and its obvious that he reverts to last year's form then its going to be 8 men in the box to stop Portis, again, just like last year.

Very good.i agree..except everyone wants to keep brunell...he's old ramsey has alot of good years and knows the system...i say keep him let mark go

I think you have lost track of why the game is played. It is not for the offseason and draft picks.
The true goal is to get to the playoffs and win the super bowl. You play your best players, the one's that have gotten you there. Not some guy on the bench because you want to get a better draft pick for him in the offseason.

I am not sure why Ramsey fans continue to bring up last year like that represents Brunells entire career. Here we are at 9-6 and one victory away from the playoffs and some are still putting down Brunnell.
I guess Ramsey's incredible track record and winning career in college and the NFL makes him the obvious better choice.

Amen!

I agree 100%. Throughout his career Brunell has played through such injuries, and we thought he was done because of age and injury, but we were all proved wrong this year. Playoffs are number one right now, not the offseason. And if Ramsey starts, I know Coach Gibbs will run much more, than if Brunell starts, simply because Ramsey has not performed well under pressure, or passing in general. Yea he did good last game, but he passed less 10 times. In 4 quarters of game, he will need to take many more attempts. We still do not know how Ramsey will play in a full game, and why go away from a guy that has been pulling it out with injury? If Ramsey starts, then coach will run more, to prevent potential mistakes. Then the Eagles will put 8 in the box, which will make running much harder. Then Ramsey will be forced to pass. Do I have faith in Ramsey, yes; but I would not go away from Brunell if he well enough to play, simply because of what he has done. The throwaways, the extra steps, the experience that comes with Brunell, is what even has us in this position right now.

You can pretty much count on Brunell being back next year, whether we collectively like that or not. Unless he get's seriously injured somewhere between now and training camp or Jason Campbell transforms into a starting QB overnight, I would bet on Mark Brunell being the starting QB for '06.

As far as Ramsey goes, while I'm pretty sure the Redskins may trade him, it's not a given. If Joe Gibbs had his druthers (sp), I think he would even bring Patrick back next year to back up Brunell and Campbell as third. That's in a perfect world, of course.

Given the currenet QB situation around the league, I would have to think we could get at least a second round pick for Ramsey.

Why get rid of Brunell? He's proven that he can still play. Not to mention that he has helped us in getting to this point of making the playoffs. You always need a good veteran qb on your team whether he starts or not. I'd rather assume keep both guys if I could - at least for one more year. However, getting rid of Brunell just because he is in his mid thirties would be a dumb move. Heck, John Elway didn't win his two Super Bowls until he was in his late 30's.

The writing is on the wall guys, unless the market suddenly dries up for Ramsey he's headed elsewhere this offseason. Brunell will be back as the starter and Campbell will continue to be groomed for the not so distant future.

Brunell will be fine this week. I would like to think our formula this week, will be to run it as much as possible and that will keep Brunell healthy. He should only go back to pass when neccessary or if it is obvious we have a deep shot down the field with Moss. I think we can beat the Eagles easily if we get up on them early. Maybe Ramsey comes in a little toward the end in some mop up duty.

Maybe my post wasn't clear, if not I apologize. Brunnell is the better QB IF he's healthy, and that's a big IF. We have seen what happens to Brunnell when his legs are injured, he can't step into his throws and Gibbs won't yank him. If Brunnell takes the field and his balls fall 3 feet in front of the receivers like last year, Gibbs better go to Ramsey and quick. If he does go to Ramsey, then it only benefits everyone if Ramsey plays well. If Ramsey plays well in a game or two it drastically increases his value. There is no way we get a 2nd rounder for him at this point unless he shows something. Right now, we would probably get a 5th rounder for the guy.

If Brunell can't go, how big a game is this for Patrick? He needs to show he's not just bench fodder? For his own self-esteem, he needs a good "clean" win? For potential future team oppurtunities elsewhere (if that happens) he needs some good "pressure game" tape? HUGE!

I do not understand why so many people want to see Ramsey play it was Brunell who has got us this far. Ramsey did play a good half for us but remember he only threw 7 passes 5 comp for 104 yards and 74 came on one play.
