fairweather fans are what they are, fairweather nothing else.when the skies were cloudy the fairweather fans weren,t here until now.i like the fans who stick with their teams win lose or draw.i have a cowboy friend in my neighborhood and he understands the game and whats going on unlike other so called real fans of their teams.he,s like me i will pull for them no matter what so that makes me feel good knowing that aswell.
i was born a skins fan and i will die a skins fan.

I've been a skins fan since birth ( I actually came home from the hospital in a skins onsie) and I was born in TX. My grandparents were fans and my family is from the DC area, so I was brainwashed very early. I didn't really start watching and understanding the game until I was 11. (I watched it all the time, but never followed players and such) and after the 91 season its been pretty much down hill, but my love for my team has done nothing but grown.
Having said that, I don't understand the fairweather mentality. I can't see how you can jump on board for one team without really jumping on board. Its kindof like a marrige... better or worse ordeal... and thats why I feel like the winning and the redemption is more for me than all of the people who only watch when we are winning. Its just a feeling, and I know it doesn't amount to much, but Its a good feeling and if we get into the playoffs or even if we don't this has been the best season I've seen since I serisously started watching football. (I was too young to really understand the game, and therefore apprecieate it when we won in 91).

There is a guy here at work that USED to be a Redskins fan, but dropped them when they started losing. Now, I don't remember alot of the details from games that happened 10 years ago...basically because alot of them I am trying to forget! However, I have been watching this team religiously since I was about 5 years old! When I was working in retail years ago, I would tape the game and watch it as soon as I had gotten home. Even if I heard the score prior to the game, I'd still watch the taped game. I believe when you stick with a team the way alot of us diehards have done, winning seasons such as this means so much more to us!
This guy at my office is from Virginia but hasn't been a skins fan since Gibbs' first run. He told me a few weeks ago he didn't believe that we could run the table and that he's not sold on the skins. Today he is emailing me articles about the Dallas and NY games, thinks we deserve to go to the playoffs, but still doesn't think we can win a playoff game on the road...... This is your classic "Wants to be on the Bandwagon but can't commit to it, even after our run....." Classic waffler.....

railocon ask your friends in the skins gear if they know the answer to question #3 and you will know if they are really skins fans
