... and that system is a ground oriented 'gimme the damn rock so I can carry the team' system!! Portis deserves a huge amount of credit for our recent success. Today's game is exactly why we brought him in.. He was patient, made smart cuts, out-ran LB and DB to the corner and was just flat out a complete back.. 1404 yds for the season, double digit TDs, that's what we traded for..

portis has 10 touchdowns? seriously? i thought he had 9, or something like that.
Let's give it up for Clinton Portis already.
A franchise record 8th game over 100 yards. 4th straight over the century mark.
1404 yards on the year, on pace to set the single season franchise record!
Give it up, CP is the freaking man. I don't even wanna hear this crap about how we gave up too much for him... right now I'd take him over anybody in the league.
CP has adjusted to Gibbs' schemes, and Gibbs and adjusted his schemes to fit Portis. It's a match made in HOG HEAVEN!!

CP impresses me most when he's in blitz pickup, or selling play action.
The backs that work as hard as he does when he's not getting the ball can be counted on one hand (in fact, we faced one today). He's a monster.

CP is a beast...playing hurt too. I mean, you can see him limping on and off the field. Without a doubt, he'll be the best Skins back ever!

And he's got the swagger and the style. Gotta love CP. No doubt about it.
Wilbon says it all right here:
They're alive and feeling good about their old-fashioned approach to the game, built around defense, an increasingly punishing offensive line and Clinton Portis. I don't want to hear any more about Portis making too much money, or Portis costing the Redskins too much in the trade with Denver, or Portis's midweek costumes not being funny. When a player runs for 100 yards or more four straight games, when he sticks your chin out and makes the tough runs against the Cowboys and Giants with the season on the line, he can wear a pair of four-inch Jimmy Choo pumps and an evening gown to practice on Thursday.

I feel like Wilbon never really writes anything that people don't already know, lol. Anyway, gotta love Clinton. I liked how we rested him at times and subbed in Bettis early in the game, to keep CP fresh for the final quarter.
