Sure feels good to see that chart! I know nothing's for sure and we still got a tough 2 games ahead of us, but damn it feels nice to even be concerned about the playoffs!
I really love how all these Cowboys lovers in the media are gonna have to shut the F up about them now and give some love to the Skins. So many people in the media have been on their jock all season and it's finally becoming obvious that the Cowboys ARE NOT playoff material.
Sean Salisbury for one, last night at the end of NFL Blitz he made a comment about how he still thinks they'll make the playoffs. I was like huh? How does he figure... the Cowboys have to go to Carolina this week and of course there's the tiebreaker issue that we own over them.
Add in the fact the Cowboys are behind TWO teams right now and I just don't understand how Salisbury can make such a retarded comment.
Big C 12-19-2005, 11:17 AM sean salisbury is a moron. i hate him. he is still picking the cowboys probably because he doesnt want to act like he is changing his mind, just so he doesnt look like he is wrong. earlier, the redskins were "dropping off as he expected". screw him.
scowan 12-19-2005, 11:37 AM So someone help me out as far as who I cheer for and against this coming week. Assuming the Skins win, (which they need to do anyway to have a chance) The Bucs are at home against the Falcons. I guess we would like the Falcons to win, but that might just muck it up that much more right now. If the Bucs win then that would probably knock out the Falcons for good and help the Bucs get that 5th seed. If the Panthers beat the Cowboys, that would really help them get the NFC South. I am not worried about the Vikings, because they lost, so we control our own destiny against them. Right?!
skins052bgr8 12-19-2005, 11:42 AM We don't need anyone to loose we right now own the last playoff spot and just need to win. To give us padding and the potential for a lose we need the falcons to lose, cowboys loose, minnesota to loose, it gets crazy again if we loose another, so if we win out we are in.

If Washington wins their last two games, it doesn't matter what happens with any other team. They're in the playoffs. If Washington loses to the Giants, then we want Tampa Bay to beat Atlanta, Baltimore to beat Minnesota, and Carolina to beat Dallas.
scowan 12-19-2005, 11:51 AM I guess I really worry about the Giants game. They still have the NFC East Division Crown to play for. I don't worry about the Philly game that much, because they have lost everyone. I see us at least finishing at 9-7, but 10-6 would get that 6th seed and if the Giants somehow totally choak against the Raiders the Skins could still win the division. I guess that 6th seed is the most realistic at this point, no matter what happens. We basically need the teams that are ahead to keep winning and all of the the other 8-6 teams to lose one more time.
JoeRedskin 12-19-2005, 12:30 PM As I said in an earlier post, I am not mentioning the "P" word until we are actually in - win out and let the chips fall where they may. Nevertheless, I WILL be rooting for Norv Turner and the Raiders the last week of the season to kick some Giant ass.
Outside of that one game - nothing matters except that the Skins win two more regular season games.
This is how it boils down for us, pretty simple:
The Redskins still can win the NFC East, but they would need some help.
If the Redskins win their remaining games, including beating the Giants on Saturday, and the Giants lose their finale against Oakland, the Redskins would win the division under the tiebreaker rules.
If the division ends in a three-way tie, the Redskins would win the tiebreakers.
Wild Card
The Redskins, who currently hold the sixth seed, have their playoff hopes in their own hands. If they win their final two games, they would secure a postseason berth. The Redskins hold tiebreaker advantages over the Cowboys, Vikings and Falcons. There are eight teams going after five spots.
Simply said, if we win out we'll have nothing to worry about. As big as the Dallas game was, NY is bigger.
RedskinRat 12-19-2005, 12:45 PM I would find it hard to believe that our players won't be out for revenge from that embarrassing loss up in NY.
Two more wins and we're in.
Two losses by the Giants and we'd win the Divison. Just imagine........
