Parcells - biggest jerk of all coaches?

Why?

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST BEFORE RESPONDING.

I posted because Parcells completely blew off Gibbs - he didn't go to midfield and refused to even wave to Gibbs after the game. That is a classless move.

IMPORTANT PART OF THE POST: When I posted originally, that is what the commentators said happened. This isn't a "Parcells gave him a limp handshake and gave Gibbs a mean look" post. There is nothing inferential to dissect regarding what happened. I thought it was important. Feel free to disagree, but don't presume you are right on a matter of opinion.

HOWEVER, once I saw the replay, I immediately posted this:
I just saw the replay on the Fox postgame, and he did shake hands with Gibbs. Still a jerk, but no reason to dwell I guess.

So, if you understand, great. If not, as I said before, there is no reason to dwell.

All Hail!

I thought this thread was going to be about the fact that he refused to take a knee even when the game was so over that FOX was showing us with 8 wins, etc. What was the point of that? Have a little class--admit it's over like a man, and get off the field. (In response, Williams blitzed like 10 guys, and bledsoe grounded the ball twice. Weird.)
I wouldn't wish and injury on anyone but if there was a time for someone to get injury for the sake of justice it would have been right here. What a douch bag Parcells is. Forget the after-game pleasantries. If I was on a team that was getting pounded I would expect us to lay off to make sure we didn't get any injuries. The way Parcells kept on trying to get a meaningless score really put his guys in a bad situation and was completely inexcusable. What a jerk.

That was just bizarre - the only thing I can think is that it was spiteful, but that's just speculation.

I loved the gamesmanship at the end of the game when Parcells wouldn't take a knee and Williams kept bringing the house on Bledsoe till we got a pick. Perfect ending!!

I gotta say that kinda pissed me off more than anything. Parcells is so utterly beaten and outplayed and now he's taking a timeout with 17 seconds left, down 35-7? Just end it, jackass.

I LOVED Williams bringing the heat on a jerkoff coach who's unwilling to admit defeat. And that final interception...serves Parcells right.

I think that is exactly what it was. It was spiteful towards both the Skins who he forced to have to defend and his own players who he needlessly put in harms way. No excuse. Again, what a jerk.

It was payback for Gibbs fish like hand shake last year or did you for get about that one? You know this two coaches do not like each other. It would not surprise me of Parcells is calling the Giants coach this morning

Fair enough, I wasn't sure if you knew they did shake hands eventually. Even if they didn't it wasn't an issue in my mind, but to each his own.

Frankly, I liked what Buddy Ryan used to do as the HC of thge Eagles and the Cardinals. Win, lose or draw, Ryan just jogged off the field at the end. He didn't go to shake hands or wave at the other guy or flip him the bird or anything. He just put his head down and jogged to the locker room.

At that point in the day, his job was done. It was "Miller Time". All the "ceremony" of a handshake and that kind of stuff is forced most of the time so he just ignored it. And he ignored it with EVERYONE in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.

If all coaches did that, we wouldn't have these kinds of threads... All by itself, that would be a benefit for maknkind.

I think it was great the way it ended. Parcell was mad at his players for playing so poorly and mad at us for beating the crap out of them. I wish all our games ended this way. It was on national TV and everyone was watching.

It's pretty cool that they don't like each other. Adds some additional fuel to the rivalry. I loved the gamesmanship at the end of the game when Parcells wouldn't take a knee and Williams kept bringing the house on Bledsoe till we got a pick. Perfect ending!!

Tuna was mad as hell about the way his team had just performed so he decided to keep them out there as long as he could. Shows his style ha!!
