You knew it would only be a matter of time before we heard this crap again. I'm guessing we'll probably hear this each offseason until he actually does retire.

File this away dept.: There is some talk in the NASCAR circles that Redskins coach Joe Gibbs is ready to walk away from the NFL and go back to running his racing teams. The word is Gibbs is not having nearly as much fun coaching as he once did. If he leaves, look for Redskins defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to likely take over. Williams deserves another chance after his three-year run in Buffalo didn't end the way he wanted. He's a good coach who is as detailed and organized as any in the game.

I call shiatty journalism. Some moron sportswriter making vague references to unsubstaniated rumours in an effort to drum up some readers. Ah crap, looks like it worked.

Speaking of crummy writing, anyone read the article on Sportsline by Clark Judge the other day about the formula to beat the Colts? Judge had a detailed outline that covered the necessary steps of making sure drives ended with points, taking away the Colt's playmakers, and limiting the Colt's points. That's just a brilliant, insider look at how to beat the Colts...or the usual formula for beating ANY NFL team ANY Sunday of the season. You could boil his entire piece of journalistic drivel down to this scintillating piece of advice: "Score more points than the Colts and you'll win!"

/end rant

Article in question: "Yes, the Colts can be beaten; here's how to do it " (http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9082783)

If anything, he'll retire after next season. I can't see him walking away after this season. We're so close to being a playoff contender....

I believe it was on Monday Night Countdown the other day that they said both Gibbs and Parcells would be back next season.

Just read the chat transcript with 'Buges this a.m. from over at ES:

"I tell you, we can’t be any happier and I know we’re going to stay here until we get this program resolved and back to the Super Bowl. "

'nuff said. Hail.

If Gibbs are Parcells retire, does Snyder go after Parcells?

Once both step down I believe it will be for the last time. Both are in their mid 60's and both have interests outside of football to keep them busy. Gibbs with NASCAR and Parcells with horse racing.

I dont think Gibbs is going anywhere until his contract is complete (unless something drastic happens). I would not have a hard time believing that he is not having as much fun this time around, cap constraints, free agency, and agressive media to me would mean he could be having less fun.

This stuff is nonsense. Gibbs is not retiring 2 years in to a 5 year deal.
