That seems a little unlikely. There's no way fatty can outrun a horse.

Here we go again: rumor of Gibbs walking awayRedskinRat 12-09-2005, 02:34 PM .....and Parcells with horse racing. That seems a little unlikely. There's no way fatty can outrun a horse. #56fanatic 12-09-2005, 02:37 PM I dont think Gibbs is going anywhere until his contract is complete (unless something drastic happens). I would not have a hard time believing that he is not having as much fun this time around, cap constraints, free agency, and agressive media to me would mean he could be having less fun. No way does he stays five years. JoeRedskin 12-09-2005, 02:41 PM No way does he stays five years. Why do you say that? He has constantly said he intends to complete his contract. Earlier in the year, he blasted the media for questioning his commitment. skins052bgr8 12-09-2005, 02:49 PM In my opinion he will be back and nearly finish his contract or have them at a point where the organization is back at the top of the league. We have improved but he is not going to walk away after one poor year and another where we are average or slightly above average and leave the team no better than we were and what he knows this organization has had problems with consistency and a stabalized coaching staff. He will not play into that, he will follow through with his commitment to get the team back on track whether that is one more year or the contract length. MTK 12-09-2005, 02:58 PM I really think Gibbs will be here for the full 5 years of his deal. He's commited to turning this thing around. redsk1 12-09-2005, 03:07 PM I really think Gibbs is committed to winning here. In no way would i see him leaving after this season. Of course, its not as fun as it used to be w/ the media scrutiny and a little bit of unrealistic expectations. On the other hand, i'm not sure i see him staying the whole 5 years. If he has some success the end of this year and next he may decide to pass the reins over to GW (if he's still around). Just my opinion. dmek25 12-09-2005, 03:08 PM i also think coach gibbs will fulfill the contract.over the last 20 years or so just about the only thing that has been constant with our redskins has been joe gibbs word irish 12-09-2005, 03:10 PM Whether the team is turned around or not, he's gone when the contract is complete. VTSkins897 12-09-2005, 03:14 PM no way he retires after this season. he'll pull at least 3 and i cud see him sticking out the entire 5 yrs. JoeRedskin 12-09-2005, 03:15 PM Whether the team is turned around or not, he's gone when the contract is complete. While I agree this is a more likely event than Gibbs leaving early, I would not be surprised if he stayed past the 5 years if he felt the job was close but incomplete. He may stay on as Team President or some such capacity. The man hates to lose and does not concede defeat easily (remember the Giants game? He went for the TD late rather than kick an easy meaningless field goal to avoid the shut out - I thought that spoke volumes about the man). |
