Judging by the recent discussions around here, you would think it was February already. The season ain't over yet folks, let's get back to talking about now for a moment.
The Skins obviously need this game if they want to keep any of their slim playoff hopes alive. In fact, the next two are must wins if they want to head in to the last 3 game division stretch with any hopes of making some noise.
The Rams are going with a rookie QB this week, but as we've seen in the past an inexperienced QB going against our defense doesn't exactly guarantee a dominating performace from the D. The Rams have some scary weapons at WR, and they have a pounder at RB who could easily light us up if the D doesn't come to play. We need to hope that Griffin can hold up and give us a spark against both the run and pass.
Offensively we really need to get the running game firing on all cylinders again. The offensive line needs to play with a chip on their shoulders and control the line of scrimmage all day. In the passing game we've got to find an answer for the way defenses have taken away Moss recently. Jacobs had some clutch catches last week, we need to see more of the same from him this week. And please, let's not throw it to Royal anymore.
I'm hanging on to my last thread of optimism this week, and my heart says Skins 21, Rams 17.
