Will teams be able to simply drop a player without any sort of retribution? Can you dump big salaries for no penelty?
IF the CBA doesn't get signed...Daseal 11-29-2005, 09:21 AM Will teams be able to simply drop a player without any sort of retribution? Can you dump big salaries for no penelty? Gmanc711 11-29-2005, 09:29 AM I think the more important question, for me at least, is will they strike or not play football in the coming seasons? #56fanatic 11-29-2005, 09:32 AM Will teams be able to simply drop a player without any sort of retribution? Can you dump big salaries for no penelty? Without the cap teams will be able to act freeley without any cap penalties what so ever. This means any additions or subtractions will not cost the teams. Which, if Danny has his say, will definately benefit the Redskins. He will go out and add any player out there. And, as seen many times before, players will come to Washington before anyone else based solely on the contracts he offers. This may work in our favor, but I dont think its the best thing to do for long term effects. We all saw how disfunctional we were in 2000 with all the big name guys we brought in to buy a superbowl. #56fanatic 11-29-2005, 09:34 AM I think the more important question, for me at least, is will they strike or not play football in the coming seasons? there wouldn't be a strike. The players will make more money without the cap than with it. It will be interesting to see how this would effect the following year if the agreement is signed and the cap would go back in place the following year. TheMalcolmConnection 11-29-2005, 10:10 AM We'll be the Yankees of football is what will happen... MVP? Sign him up. Defensive Player of the Year? Sign him up too. irish 11-29-2005, 10:20 AM The redskins will make the yankees look like pikers with all the high priced talent they will sign. Not having a CBA would be the best thing that could happen for the redskins because they would outspend every team in the nfl and likely buy their way to a championship. BigSKINBauer 11-29-2005, 01:04 PM I want us to win but not like that. BUT what a dominant team that would be!!! DWIGHT, ABRAHAM, MATHIS, Ray LEWIS, WAYNE, you name it we get it SmootSmack 11-29-2005, 01:31 PM In an uncapped NFL, there would be fewer free agents because players would not be eligible for free agency until after 6 years in the league, as opposed to the current 4. CrazyCanuck 11-29-2005, 02:16 PM No uncapped year please. JoeRedskin 11-29-2005, 04:34 PM No uncapped year please. If our resident capologist doesn't want an uncapped year - then I don't want an uncapped year. |
