I don't think it was "bashing", the question was posed: Is Carlos Rogers overrated? IMO if you are taken that high in the draft you should be contributing to the team before week 12, his absence from the lineup in light of the fact that Walt Harris was getting consistently burned was worthy of debate.

That's fair enough, I was kind of kidding anyways. But on that point, Greg Williams said after we picked Rogers that he doesn't like to start DBs right away. Williams prefers to slowly work them into the lineup. Given that statement and his history of doing just that with DB draft picks, I don't think we should be concerned about Rogers not getting starts until now.

ST was good enough to be out there game 3 as a full time starter...

Who says a high pick has to contribute before week twelve? I missed that rule and so did, Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, Eli Manning, Mike Williams, Troy Williamson, PacMan, Ronnie Brown, Braylen Edwards ..... So I guess Caddie Williams was the only non-bust out of this year's top ten. CB and QB are probally the hardest positions to step in instantly and be sucessful, because if you F-up its game changing. Also realize Rogers missed alot to time with the injury during training camp.

um, besides palmer, those guys have all been playing before week 12 of their rookie seasons...

If I recall (my recollection may be wrong), we had injuries at safety when Taylor entered the lineup last season. Plus, what options did we have at safety then? Clark wasn't even a Redskin. Who did we have besides Bowen (who is a backup now)?

It's pretty tough to use the transitive property on draft positions from year to year... taylor was considered by many to be the best safety prospect to come out since ronnie lott. this year, there was argument as to whether rogers was even the best CB in his own draft... although taylor's draft position (5) is close to rogers' (8), there was a distinct difference in pro readiness after college.

clark was on the team. I think bowen and lott were starting... lott was alright, though obviously not on the same level.

Alright guys, lets get the troops in there and vote for Carlos. He's up for Rookie of the Week. We need some support guys, voting ends on Thursday and he's in last place with 6 percent, while Ryan Fitzpatrick leads with 47%.

And so was Rogers...I don't think FirstandTen was saying the guys he mentioned in his post didn't play, just that they weren't serious contributors.

"transitive property"....impressive:).......I agree, however, that Taylor was more able to transition to the pro level, not really because of football acumen, but his athletic prowess is what helped him so much. (espcecially covering many mistakes so early...and it still does.)

I think more than anything else, Carlos' run support will be his biggest contrib. to the defense.
