I personally voted for the defense. While both units have been inconsistent, the defense is a better unit. I think people took for granted that we had a top 5 defense last year. Now that they've dropped a whopping 4 rankings to the 9th best defense in the league people are acting like the defense is a bad unit. Conversely, because our offense was so terrible last year and is much better this year, people act like the offense is great.

The offense has taken some big steps forward this year while the D has taken a step back in my opinion. There's plenty of blame/praise to go around to both units, but overall I think the offense is a notch ahead.

I say they are equally to blame or praiseworthy. It just seems like one week the offense shows up, the next week the defense shows up and the offense dosent. Thats just how i've seen the season for the most part. So I think they are both equally responsible for our wins and losses.

I vote for the defense as a better unit, because of its depth. You can plug people in the defense and not lose all that much. The offense has a couple of great playmakers but the depth isn't the same

i say equally blame/praiseworthy. both sides make mistakes, both have done good things.

defense is better... offensive super ultra conservativism has cost us three games now. Its not the players right now, its the 4th quarter playcalling.

exactly my reasoning, Tampa 35-36, who showed up?? Oakland and Chargers, who showed up?? its different every week, well giants 0-36 neither of them showed up

there have been games this year when the defense couldn't stop big plays, but (with the exeption of the Mara homecoming game) no one has exactly walked all over us... but when you think of it... why can we score 30+ points when we have to against tampa... then only score 9 against chicago... then 21 against the chargers etc...when its all we needed to win. We have hung in there with several teams that should easily beat a 5-6 team until it comes time to put them away.

In the last game, along with a couple of others, the offense could have put up at least another field goal and won the game before leaving the Defense all alone to play in the fourth quarter.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... on offense you have 3+ opportunities to do your job... on defense you won't succeed unless you do your job every down. If you miss one play you're done, and we've let our D get exposed in the fourth quarter by playing against the clock when there's over half a quarter left and leaving it up to them to finish. If the opposing team's offense does not see the ball when they're behind, they can never catch up. It's pretty simple football, but we seem to keep missing that point and relying on the fact that our D is good.. but no D is perfect every play.. and when you have explosive offenses that are desparate, you have to limit their opportunities with you own offense.
