Injuries Mounting

Griffin and Betts are still day-to-day and now Thrash and Sellers are out for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

If we're without both Betts and Sellers we should definitely see Nemo on Sunday. Right?

Not too pleased with what Sellers did against the Raiders. Interesting tidbit in the article below. But it seems like he had a pretty rough weekend all around

Even though Sellers cost us 15 yards, I think it was justified. He took a big shot there, and if any one of us had taken that shot, we'dve been seriously pissed as well. I'm just glad he didn't go further and decide to kick the guy's ass. I feel bad that he lost a family member, that must hurt as well.

i don't blame sellers what so ever, he didn't lose the game. Last year sellers had a similar thing after that josh perry guy put that hit on springs, sellers got allittle physical, that time it might have cost us allittle but i still wasn't to mad

Could anyone post a vid of the shot on Sellers? I heard it was illegal. I was at the game and didn't see the hit. Just saw the jackass taunting him while he was laying stiff on the ground. Didn't understand why they didn't call taunting!?!? They didn't show a replay of the hit at the game. What Sellers did was stupid, but anyone probably woulda done the exact same thing.

I can't be too upset with Sellers, the guy took a cheap shot and broke a rib in the process. It amazes me he was able to go back out there and go after the guy. I've had cracked ribs before and it's one of the most painful things you can have, if you just laugh or cough it hurts.

Yeah I know the feeling of broken ribs too, it totally sucks. And it was a cheap shot. I'm just a little disappointed that he snuck back out onto the field against the doctors orders. I know that players play through injuries all the time, but to risk further injury just to seek revenge on someone just doesn't seem like he's looking at the bigger picture to me. It's all good though

To me the sellers thing was what should have fired up the defense the rest of the game. The guy took a cheap shot, broke a rib, then went right back on the field and went after the guy throwing him to the ground. Seller couldn't half breathe right. We need more guys like that, that hunger and old school mentality.

I started a post last week regarding our punter and no one really had the same feeling about him. I wanted to ask the same question this week. Doesn't he share part of the blame for allowing the Raiders to get in position to drive down the field. Game in and game out when we need a deep punt, he shanks one and it goes 30 yards. I think his stats are misleading. He may have good numbers with punts inside the 20 and some touchbacks, but thats because our offense would sputter somewhere around midfield. There has got to be a punter out there that can put the ball down field. When he is backed up in our territory around the 20 or 30, teams are getting the ball around their 30 or 40 yard line everytime. Just like the Raider game, and Tampa game. Late in the game he sends a 30 yarder down field giving them and extra 15 to 20 yards. I think that stat is misleading from last year because Tupa would consistantly put the ball deep, avg like 47 yards or so. Our D had a lot more room to work with where this year they are getting shorter fields to work with.

I definitely agree with you about Frost. I thought his punt against Tampa late in the game was as responsible as anything else for our loss. He needs to step it up in crunch time

I think he has had ample time to show he can do the job or step up when needed. I think we need to start auditioning new punters. It cant possibly be any worse than what we have right now. I new when he had to punt at the end of the game sunday, that the Raiders would end up with good field position. Last year I knew Tupa would pin them deep 9 out of 10 times. I can't believe he is still on the team.

At this point who's out there for a punter?

If there was someone available better than Frost you'd have to think he would be in here by now.

Hopefully Tupa will be back strong next year.
