I've been reading some of the threads and they appear way too hostile. A lot of people need to tone down their posts. I know we are all emotional and upset about the tough loss, but let's keep the site civil. When people start calling other names they just end up looking immature and simply discredit themselves.

Not questioning your judgment as a moderator, but are these warnings really necessary? Let people get belligererent after a a loss - what's the harm in that? People will surely calm down over the course of the week, or even by tomorrow.

It's easy to get heart broken and bogged down if you expected us to go to the playoffs. I was one of those who didn't expect the playoffs this year. I think we'lll go 9-7 and miss them.

Norv is coming to Fedex next week. LOL, Norv? You kidding me? Good ol' Norval Turner.

It would've been great to grab a share of the NFC east lead this week, but here's my prediction for what'll happen.

Philly beats Dallas tomorrow. Giants at 6-3 and the rest of the division at 5-4.

Then, Philly pops the G-men in the mouth the week after, while we crush Oakland. Cowboys will presumably win against Detroit, which would leave the whole division at 6-4. From that point, we control our own destiny.

I think it is necessary, there's no need to make personal attacks on anyone. It has happened today, so I was hoping to see something like this...good call Ramseyfan

I beg to differ. Actually, I never beg. I simply differ. I'm not a moderator here, so I have and always will abide by the rules set on here, but I do question the effectiveness of these warnings.

I recall there was one when L. Coles' child abuse story hit ESPN. Now this. Anyone classless enough to make a joke on child abuse would've risked being exposed as... well...a classless person. Hence, the disincentive to do it. That's self regulating. Policing of this sort ain't necessary on a blog site, just my humble opinion.

My view simply is that tempers are bound to flare up after a loss such as this. Let them. So, some classless insults and smart-a$$ retorts will come up on here. So what? Everything will be forgotten after a win. I for one think you learn more by venting after a loss like this than by having your emotions repressed by the blog police.

hurrykaine,

Perhaps this warning will be completely ineffective. However, I should at least try to keep this site from degrading into a sewer of personal attacks. I don't think that there is a place for such attacks on this site. And, I'd like to think of this site as more than just another blog site.

It never hurts to throw a friendly reminder out there now and then. Emotions tend to run high after a loss and unfortunately not is all forgotten a day later or even a week later. People take things the wrong way all the time and discussions can get unnecesarily personal really quick, so we'd rather avoid situations like that entirely.
