hurrykaine 11-14-2005, 01:09 AM Your stellar?......NUFF SAID................ALL skins...wow!!! i would never mention any redskin as your!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
Exactly right. until he stops fumbling, Brunell won't be stellar in my book (even though he's better than Ramsey).
You can't cough it up on a such a regular basis without hurting the team. He's got to stop coughing it up. 5 fumbles in the last 6 games. Our record in those 6 games - you guessed it, 2-4.
hurrykaine 11-14-2005, 01:13 AM Sorry all. Just i usuall read each week and little chat and just gettin tired of negative "we suck....we rule..." attitude after every game:
I agree with that part. However, that doesn't mean there are aspects of the team that don't suck. The "Protecting the football" aspect of this team is one of the worst in the league...the point of this thread. No one's calling for any heads - just better technique and protection.

Luxorreb 11-14-2005, 05:48 AM I think we need to ease up on Brunell.
Saying Brunell looked like Ramsey is ludicrous. Ramsey never woulda brought our team back after 2 picks and a lost fumble. But we shouldn't even speculate. Brunell ran for a first down, rolled out well and found open wr's often. Brunell plays like a pro all the time. Sure he makes mistakes, but let's look at the other QB's in the NFL. He's top 10 without a doubt. Too bad our defense made Firemarshall Bill look like his father Sunday afternoon!

You nailed it Lux, PR would have never lead this team back to take the lead. The offense scored 35 points yesterday and that should always be enough to win in the NFL. MB did everything that anyone could ask of a QB. The bottom line is that when called on to secure the game "The U" could not do it.
bertoskins 11-14-2005, 09:46 AM Hey guys, cheer up, I believe that Gibbs will do adjustment for all of this mistakes that we had, we are still in the thick of the fight of the NFC east crown, come on we can hurdle this week and take revenge in the two home games coming
just contine to trust
skins all the way
#56fanatic 11-14-2005, 09:56 AM Brunell lost two fumbles, but most QBs are going to drop the ball when Rice pretty much comes clean. The pass protection on the left side was awful. Royal didn't even move on one play, then just stood there as Portis was trying to keep Rice off Brunell. The two INTs we not really Brunells fault. Patten has to come and get that ball instead of waiting for it to get to him. And the screen pass, maybe shouldn't have been thrown at all, but it bounced right into Rices hands. Brunell played a very good game though. In the second half he drove us down the field time and time again, against the NFLs #1 Defense. And we were winning the game late. Brunell is a fighter, thats for sure.

A lot of you seem to have a short memory. Of course Ramsey and Brunell don't play the position exactly the same, but Brunells game mirrored at least half a dozen games that Ramsey played as the starter. He would play shakey early, settle down and make some good throws, and battle back to within a point or two and come up just short at the end. I specifically remember and Eagles and Giants games two seasons ago where this happened.
Now no one is saying Ramsey should be starting over Brunell, but when did it become a crime to point out Brunells mistakes? Tell me his fumble on the six yard line had no effect on the outcome of the game. Explain to me how attempting three 30+ yard passes in a row, from 1st and 10 with 48 seconds left was smart. As I said, no one is saying Ramsey should be starting over Brunell, but to act like he had a perfect game is ridiculous.

Thats why I never got on the brunell bandwagon... I'm sorry but everytime he gets hit he coughs it up...and those ints werent his fault huh??? he forced the ball 2 times when moss clearly wasnt open..The Eagles game would have never been that close ..remember the fumble before half? he wins games but every game we have lost his fumbles have been a factor.... hell i will say it he has playing well AT TIMES but all the turnovers ..... I mean its ptiful everytime he gets hit its sad he coughs it right up...
railcon56 11-14-2005, 12:10 PM If you read the original post clearly, I'm not questionning Brunell starting over Ramsey at all. That debate was settled in Game 2 against the Cowboys, as far as I'm concerned.
What I am questionning is his technique protecting the football when he's under D-line pressure. Let's count the number of games he has fumbled in. Denver, Kansas City (in the red zone), Giants, Eagles (red zone), and today. So, your stellar QB has fumbled the ball in 5 of the last 6 games. That's a problem in need of correction, wouldn't you say? Not by benching him, but by better QB coaching and protection.
I agree but if Ramsey fumbled he would be the goat you can belive that..I'm not convinced and i'm not on his bandwagon... and we won't get to the superbowl or playoffs with him... i want him to prve me wrong but if i'm a coach on the other team i bring pressure ...just hit him oh and play the recievers close u will get ints and fumbles...
