ESPN is reporting Sean Taylor will likely miss this weeks game against Tampa Bay with a sprained ankle... This could hurt a little bit... How do you guys think this affects the defensive game plan??

It will hurt, but we have depth at safety, and i'm sure someone else will fill in nicely.

Matt Bowen will step up in this game. Bowen had a solid game last year against the Bucs. He had a crucial sack in that game. Hopefully gw can send him again.

Ask your self this...Would you trust Bowen to help your grandma cross the street?

The sane answer here is NO!

If Bowen is playing in the short field he's ok. It's over when he is covering man to man. He's not that fast but I'll take him over Stoutmire and Priouleau. Priouleau besides Walt Harris, has to be one of the the worst Safeties when tackling. Arm tackles won't do it against good RBs.

Without Taylor on the field I get increasingly concerned about Joey Galloway. He has the speed to kill, and Taylor has great range and the ability to help out if Galloway beats one of the corners deep.

This is just going to put more honus on Springs and Harris to stick with Galloway all the way.

But the point is rendered moot if the front 7 can get in Chris Simms' face. Expect GW to bring the noise to disrupt the QB. Let's just hope Springs holds up against Galloway, because the safeties won't be that much help on deep coverage.

If he has to miss a game to get the ankle better, than this is probably the best game he could do it, short of Arizona.

I don't like it, but if he can't go, we've got depth there.

I wouldn't count him out of playing yet...
God I hope he plays Sunday.
If not the Bucs will still be taking a chance with Simms going deep.

When Matt Bowen played the Bucs last year, he led the team in tackles (8 solo), led the team in sacks (with 2), and forced a fumble. I may not want Bowen to anchor our defense every week, but I trust GW to use him as the weapon he can be in the right matchup - which we may just have this week.
