At 10 PM Central NBC News led off with a story about news on RB Priest Holmes. Jack Harry, Sports Director for that station reported that he spoke with two higher sources within the Chiefs organization and they have said that Priest Holmes indeed may retire as early as tomorrow. In Florida today, Holmes was getting a 3rd opinion on the hit he took from SD DE Shawn Merriman two weeks ago. Apparently what has been found is a lump on or within Priest's spine and if he were to take one more big hit, he could face paralysis.

Wow I heard he was out for the rest of the year and may retire at the end of the year. But yeah he should retire right away if indeed he could be paralyzed. Not worth it

jeez...wow...poor guy. He seems like a decent guy and was clearly a quality player. I hope everything is OK and he can get back on the field safely but if not he should go to the carribean, sip margaritas and chill. No reason to be getting paralyzed.

Thoughts go out to Priest Holmes.
Always been a great player with lotsa class.
He is among the best to play this game we call football.
He has plenty of money and perhaps will be HOF bound.
Goto the carribean and enjoy your life.

Priest Holmes is an amazingly lucky man. He lived his dream, and fortunately has found out about this issue before it ruined his life.

If indeed he is done, he's done what he needed to do.

This just further goes to show that u never know what might happen to u and what u think is bothering isn't what u think at all. I wish him and his family well cuz he seems like a classy guy who I personally thought if healthy could have broken quite a few more records.

Really horrible news. He's a classy guy and a fun player to watch. He'll be missed if he does retire.
