I think desperate is closer to the truth. Chad Pennington is good, but he's going to be walking with a cane soon. He's as frail as an old lady. I'm sure many coaches have seen game film of the pounding that Ramsey took on a regular basis, but continued to get up and play. Herm Edwards is one of those coaches that believes in supporting his players, almost to a fault, and he probably thinks Ramsey could perform well, given the opportunity. Coles might be dropping hints to him also, since he was Ramseys' favorite target.
If Ramsey could develop into a solid, mid tier QB(Marc Bulger, Matt Hasselbeck, etc.), he would be far more valuable to the Jets than even a stud defensive end like Abraham.

offiss 11-07-2005, 05:16 PM Everyone forgets Abraham sitting out the playoffs last season because he said he didn't want to jeopordize his upcoming contract, sounds like a real Gibbs type player, teams just may have a more favorable opinion of Ramsey than we do.

Cap? What cap?! This front office cares about the cap like Andrew Jackson cared about the Native Americans.
If there's an overpriced, on-the-downside-of-his-career free agent out there, by God, this front office will find him.
Still, anything's an upgrade over those two putz-bags Renaldo Wynn and Philip Daniels -- who finally, at the half-way point in the season got his first sack, but only because the offensive tackle didn’t realize McNabb was going for a pass when they thought he was going to spike it. I mean really, is that not pathetic? That our starting defensive ends can only get to the quarterback if their opponent stands there motionless?
8 games – 1 sack from our two starting defensive ends.
Sad.

skindogger47 11-07-2005, 05:57 PM The problem is that no pass rushing DE will want to come here and play square-shouldered Greg Blache conservative run stopping football. Ramsey will not be here next year and I would LOVE to see Abraham here, but isn't his contract up at the end of the season?
mooby 11-07-2005, 06:06 PM i don't know but we are in desperate need of a pass rushing defensive end. our d-line is sad right now. i think that is one of the key things we need to focus on this year in the draft or in free agency. At this point, i'd be willing to take Abraham, or anyone with good pass rushing skills. What about Kyle Vanden Bosch?
