Holding on to Novak

There is some speculation that Novak may be gone soon. I am starting to think we should keep him on the roster. I know it is unorthodox to keep 2 kickers but Hall has a history of injuries and I don't want some other lame ass team (feebles, cowpukes) getting their grubby paws on him. I hope he gets a job somewhere 'cause he has been big for us, but I hope it's somewhere in the AFC west.

I think we'll maybe IR Hall and stick withNovak. That keeps both away from other teams. I would guess Frost becomes kickoff man.

I aggree it is abit unorthodox to keep to kickers, but with Hall's injuries I would hate to count on him and he get hurt and then we are stuck getting some scrub. Novak hs performed well. If we have to pick one or the other I would almost pick Novak.

You guys are talking like Hall is the starter this week. Is there something I don't know? Is Hall the starter?

All I know is he is hoping to start. I just know they will have to make the decision at some point, whether it is this week or next week.

Which is unfortunate, because Novak won't clear waivers in order for us to keep him on the practice squad. But, there is no reason to keep a kicker on the practice squad, especially when Morten Andersen is looking for work ;)

I just REALLY don't want Novak to go to the Eagles or Cowboys. BOTH need kickers...

I don't know how much depth we need at other positions, but if everyone can get healthy, I think we have to keep two kickers at least until we know for sure about Hall.

The Redskins have said they do not want to keep two kickers on the roster, especially as injuries mount at other positions. If Hall is activated, Novak almost certainly would be released, but his performance should enable him to get picked up by another team. Hall knows all about the swirling winds that often make kicking at Giants Stadium a nightmare; he played there for six seasons with the New York Jets.

"We'll wait to the end of the week," Gibbs said. "It's week to week. [Today] we do most of our kicking. [Hall] took quite a bit [yesterday]. We'll monitor it."

Now granted, it's from the Post, where they are still crying over their tiff with the Skins, but with injuries elsewhere, and Gibbs preferring Vets to rookies, you'd have to almost guess that come Sunday, Novak will be gone.
