I have been a fan of this forum for a long time. I am a huge redskins fan. I was born in 1982 and have been a huge fan ever since.I have read many a posts and i agree mostly, but many of you are just too biased. I know many of you have a problem with Sally Jenkins of the WP. I wanted to get a jump ahead of anyone who did not read the entire article. She hit the Antonio Pierce situation head on. Here is a great quote:
"But ultimately, Pierce is naive. If a team stays loyal and pays players for being "good soldiers" when they're past the point of being productive, ticket buyers snarl and demand to know why the team is under-performing. The fact is, fans don't reward loyalty in the NFL any more than owners do. They reward wins."

Welcome to the board!

I am among those who do not like Jenkins--I find her tone to be generally negative about the skins, no matter what is going on. Now, this is the most extensive article she's written in a while, and, while she does make some balanced points, it's telling that it's a GIANT'S PLAYER she's writing about. That's becuase she lives in New York City. Did she write about Pierce when he was a skin? I think she'd be better served by working for one of the national outlets. She has no particular connection to the skins and DC, as far as I can tell. That, I guess, is my main beef. Even Kornheiser, who loves to sarcastically rip the team clearly cares about DC sports and the skins in particular. I've never, ever felt that from Jenkins. It's just her feelings about this and that. Fine. But this is the Washington Post. You mean they can't find someone who at least lives in DC and cares about the teams? Shirley Povitch cared about the city and its teams. Tom Boswell cares about the city and its teams. Even Wilbon, a Chicago guy, seems to care. What's so great about Jenkins that she needs to be on the Post staff?

Anyway, this is obviously one of those long-term things--it wasn't this article that triggered it.

Well she at least makes some good points here regarding the Pierce situation and doesn't throw it all on the lap of the Redskins' front office.

Much as I love Kornheiser, he does not like Gibbs. Period.

Why on earth do you say that? Kornheiser has always admired Gibbs as much as Kornheiser can admire anyone. He's a New Yorker. Sarcasm is built into his system. I think he dogs on Gibbs the same way a New Yorker dogs on anyone.

I don't buy it that he does not like Gibbs.
