Moose Johnston had some nice things to say about us yesterday. I dont care what the "experts" say anymore. We will not get the respect we deserve until we beat some top teams. We have NY then Philly and TB. We will get respect when we can beat teams like this. I hope they keep us underdogs all year, it gives our boys that little extra motivation to knock the other guys heads off. I remember over the past 7 or so years we may have lost this game, or played down to the opponents level, I give credit to the staff on keeping them hungry throughout the week, and mentally ready to just execute no matter what the competition. GO SKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday was the classic game we would have blown during the Turner years.
Definitely good to see the staff was able to keep the team hungry and they understood how important it was to come out and jump all over the 49ers and never let up.

I am going to have to demand apologies from dicks in the media who bagged on the skins. 6 game does not a season make but it at least is enough proof that Gibbs might know a little something about football.
And I now have new found enemies. Tom Jackson and Chris Berman can eat my ass if they think laying 52 on ANYBODY in the NFL doesn't prove something. The niners suck for sure but they hadn't given up points like that all year and they are an NFL team. That does mean something. How anyone can take away anything but positives from that game is completly dumb-founding. I seriously wonder if this team were to win the Superbowl if you'd still hear crap like this. What a crock of S&*T

True. As much as I hate the ever-present bagging on the Skins I guess it does give them a little chip on their shoulders. Maybe it serves a good purpose.

Just to clarify, Berman and Jackson did say it's hard to gauge how good the Skins offense is because the 49ers are a bad team, but they also said Washingtons offense is improving every week, and this game looked like a Division 1 team versus a Division 3 team. They were almost entirely positive when speaking about Washington.

I will then retract my "eat my ass" statement and allow them to continue to suck in peace.
Berman and Jackson did give the Skins some credit, but I thought their tone overall was of reluctant praise.

On a non media bashing note:
Man what quality QB play can do for an offense!
Look at every team in the NFC East. The 3 also rans from last year all have had improved QB play this year and it has shown in their records and stats. The one Superbowl team has probably had decreased play and it has at least shown in their stats. Wtih McNabb hurting they simply aren't nearly as good. The gap is really non-existtent between the Eagles and the field now. I'd be willing to bet the Eagles don't win the division at this point. Every other team is playing too well. At least one of us is going to over take them.
The last time we had QB play this stellar was in '99 when Brad Johnson threw for over 4000 yards and 24 TD, and of course we went to the playoffs.
Brunell is on pace to smash both of those marks.
Great QB play does indeed make a huge difference. Of course there are other things that play into his great performances, the OL, the receivers, the running game and the D. It's a total team effort right now.
