This is what some idiot Cowboys fan was spouting off on my local forum board. He was whining because they don't show Dallas Cowboys games in this region:

Im a long time Cowboys fan and I realize just by where we live at in the USA the Redskins games get first rights to be shown on television.

But when the last place skins play the last place 49er's is the only NFC game we get to see this sunday

when the big game for Fox is my first place Cowboys taking on the first place Seattle Seahawks which should be one hell of a game.

All we get is this crappy regional skins 49ers game. If this was a Fox NFC Double Header Sunday

I would have no problem with showing the skins game at 1 pm because I would be able to see the Cowboys and Seahawks
at 4 pm.

Fox used to let the fans vote for what game they would get to see but they quit doing that Wish Adelphia had a NFL deal like direct tv then I could wath them win or lose everyweek.

Thanks everyone for letting me get that off my chest Have A Great Weekend

When I tried to tell him about local markets and why we have regional games, it went through one ear and right out the other. I've told him repeatedly to get Direct TV and purchase NFL Sunday Ticket. However, he continued to whine because his cable company doesn't carry Dallas Cowboys games in Virginia. What an idiot! :smashfrea

Tell his cheap ass to buy NFL Ticket. He can watch all the Cowbitch games we wants.

Also, gently remind him that the second place Skins embarassed him in his home. On National TV. Where everyone could see. And no one had to vote for it.

I told him three times, but he ignores it. I also told him just because he think the Cowboys-Seahawks game is a bigger game and should be shown doesn't mean the rest of us think so. THEN, he says that obviously a local television station thinks so in their advertisment. I then had to explain to him that more than likely those ads were sent from the NFL to the main FOX headquarters where the marketing department sends them on to the regional and local FOX stations across the country. Simply put...that isn't a local advertisment from that station, although they might edit the advertisment to include their stations' identification.

Yeah I told him that in my first post in response, and also reminded him that Dallas appears head of the division because everybody else has had a bye week. If Dallas had already had a bye week and hadn't played NY yet, then Dallas would more than likely be either in third place or last place.

Living in NY believe me I wish big games were shown over regional coverage.

Do you know how many times I've been stuck watching the Giants-Cardinals over the years?

Thank god I'll be moving into my new house soon, getting DirecTV hooked up will be priority #1!

That was another thing I asked him. How does he feel about Redskins fans living in Texas having to put up with regional coverage over getting to see a big game - especially when it's a Redskins game? I do wish the cable system offered an NFL Sunday Ticket thing as well.

I dont know how anyone could possible be impressed with the skins thus far , they could easly have only one win . It been a while since you skins fans had any fun in Dallas or RFK , a couple hail marys and grab your rosary thats your attack, Cowboys go to playoffs washington dont same old story.

My reply:

Same goes for the Cowboys. The only impressive win they have had is against the wounded Eagles. Other than that...all three of their wins could have gone the other direction.

Sure, Washington could easily only have one win - however, they also could have easily been undefeated as well. You do realize the Washington Redskins don't play at RFK anymore, and haven't in nearly a decade?

Sorry, but wishful thinking on the Cowboys going to the playoffs and the Skins staying at home. Time to stop drinking that silver and blue kool-aid!

Go to a sports bar!! Jesus. I live in LA and all we get stuck with are Rams and Raiders. Both teams left eons ago but since LA city admin is the worst in the nation, it can't get it's shit together and have an NFL franchise in the 2nd biggest media market in the country. I haven't missed ONE game this year including preseason. Get out of the house for a change, douchebag. Dallas fans are as stupid as they are ugly.
