When is Lavar's $6.5 million roster bonus due, June 1 or July 15? I've seen it reported both ways.

Southpaw 10-19-2005, 12:23 PM With the way things are going, I doubt he'll ever see that money either way. ordinaryjoe 10-19-2005, 12:31 PM Makes a big difference in terms of the salary cap hit. CrazyCanuck 10-19-2005, 01:15 PM From the Washington Post article: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/04/AR2005100401283.html "...and is scheduled to receive a $6.5 million roster bonus July 15". ordinaryjoe 10-19-2005, 01:17 PM I've seen the Post article, but does anyone have another source? Daseal 10-19-2005, 01:17 PM Glad to see you posting again, Canuck. I thought perhaps a stack of cap sheets fell on you while chained in that hole Matty calls your work room! CrazyCanuck 10-19-2005, 06:46 PM Glad to see you posting again, Canuck. I thought perhaps a stack of cap sheets fell on you while chained in that hole Matty calls your work room! Thanks but I'm always around. I was gonna say the same to you, haven't seen you post much lately. I thought maybe you were angry about all the new devil's advocates on the Warpath these days. Some are even crazier than you! :laughing- CrazyCanuck 10-19-2005, 06:47 PM Glad to see you posting again, Canuck. I thought perhaps a stack of cap sheets fell on you while chained in that hole Matty calls your work room! And for the record, it's guys like Matty, TAFKAS, BrudLee... that are chained in the work room. I have it easy. :cool-smil railcon56 10-19-2005, 06:53 PM When is Lavar's $6.5 million roster bonus due, June 1 or July 15? I've seen it reported both ways. Wanna make a bet LaVar stays with the skins next year? CrazyCanuck 10-19-2005, 06:57 PM I've seen the Post article, but does anyone have another source? Here's another great article about Arrington and the cap implications: http://redskins.scout.com/2/448145.html This paragraph makes me think that the roster bonus is actually due on or before June 1st: "The second option involves the Redskins striking an agreement with Arrington to push back his roster bonus until after June 1 next year in exchange for agreeing to release him on June 1 - thus spreading the accelerated cap hit over two years ($5.096 million in 2006, $7.449 million in 2007)." Basically he's saying that because Arrington's roster bonus is due before June 1st, the Skins wouldn't be able to cut him after June 1st to spread the deadcap hit to future years. |
