What did you D do to pressure Eli? Blitzes or just pressure from up front? Eli seems very mistake-prone when you get in his face.

What we did was,

1.) Demarcus Ware eating Pettigouts lunch with outside speed rushes. And Greg Ellis eating up RT McKenzie at will.
(Do you guys have an edge pass rusher with deceptive size and speed? I mean besides the one you have but isn't allowed to play)

2.) Bring it on ELI!! When we dropped 8 back, he ate us up. When we went blitz and got pressure, the throws were either long, short, or picked off. He will pick you apart in prevent, he is good and he doesn't play like a 12 game starter. Plus He is more athletic than you would think.

3.) It's nice having the ability to change fronts (3/4 - 4/3) but the real luxury is having a guy like LaRoi Glover. The Giants strayed away from the run and that is when Glover will eat up double teams when he doesn't have to worry about getting sucked in and run behind. He had 2 sacks.

4.) We put our fastest DB on Shockey - Terrance Newman - and he shut Big Mouth Shockey down, untill the second half when we left our LB's and Safetys on him.

Other than that, get Red zone points.

The Giants will let you win the time of possesion battle, but hope to burn you with turnovers. Brunell will be harder to get at in the pocket than Bledsoe.

I wouldn't say I was "thrilled" that the Skins are 4-2. I am very encouraged by their play. The offense has been much better than expected and the defense is playing up to par (despite my favorite player missing in action). The team has to eliminate the costly mistakes, especially if the defense cannot create turnovers. Overall I'm happy. This team has playoff potential. I would like to see less penalties, a rushing touchdown, more pressure on the quarterback and more turnovers....more Levar Arrington.

I believe that the game with the 49ers this week will tell us all something very important about the 2005 Washington Redskins.

The Redskins have significantly better talent than the 49ers - - everywhere that matters. I don't care if the 49ers had a month off to prepare for this game, the physical football talent gap between them and the Skins is still huge.

This week will give us a look at what kind of "killer instinct" this team has as a whole. This is a team the Skins should be able to knock down and step on their throats and not ever let up. This is the first team this year where the Skins have such an obvious physical advantage. It will be interesting to see if they absolutely dominate the 49ers - - or if they let them hang around and make some kind of game of it into the late 3rd quarter.

The line on the game opened with the Skins as a 11.5 point favorite and it jumped to 12 points in about an hour and is now at 12.5 points in most places and as high as 13 points in two of the offshore sports books. I honestly believe that the Skins can name the score on Sunday and ought to win by 3 TDs or more.
