[QUOTE=skinsguy]I personally think this whole discussion of Lavar Arrington is silly and a waste of time.

Some on this board become almost hysterical anytime anyone dares to question what the coaches are doing. Why is it silly and a waste of time to suggest that LA could help this "D" play better? I would agree that this discussion would be a waste of time if the team were still winning, but they've lost 2 in a row and the "D" is struggling. The "O" is much improved over last year and it's actually a pleasure to watch them on the field. But, the "D" is not playing as well as before. Why? You could probably come up with a dozen reasons, but I believe two of them are - failure to get to the QB and failure to cause turnovers. These are two areas where LA could definitely be a positive influence.

How can anyone criticize Greg Williams after the crappy defenses we have had to endure for the past 13 years? The skins finally have a playoff caliber defense thanks to Greg Williams and now he is going under the bus becasue he;s not playing Lavar...rediculous.

Could LaVar help with turnovers and pressure?

Sure he could.

But, can you LaVar supporters also entertain the notion that he could also contribute to the 'D' giving up big plays? With his reluctance to play within the system, perhaps Williams thinks he's more of a liability to a 'D' that is already being stretched thin because of the injuries in the secondary.

I'm guessing Williams doesn't see LaVar as part of the solution right now and thinks of him as only being part of the problem.

I think Matty hit the nail on the head....he's more of a liability than a solution.

Questioning the coaching staff is one thing. We all do that from time to time. Calling them liars, as you have done so, it something completely different. That calls for hardcore evidence to prove such an accusation.

I'm just curious why I haven't seen you take part in any discussion when we're winning?

It's a great time to be a conspiracy theorist.

Did LaVar really land on the moon?

Was LaVar really the lone gunmen?

Lordy!

:frusty:
omg too funny...

The fact that he doesn't even have to for Williams to know this is telling.

You hear alot about overpersuit, but Sean Taylor is playing and I've seen him cost us 14 points this year overpersuing and getting duped out of position.

That shit happens to everyone, its not like we only sucked before williams and gibbs because Lavar gave up big plays.

I watched NFL replay of our game against the Seahawks a couple of years ago, and all Hasslebeck could talk about to his line was to "keep Lavar Arrington away from me." We won that game. The freaking QB was scared, and he's a good QB. If you can break someone's confidence behind center, you break the offense (except in the bronco's case).

Lavar overruns sometimes, but not anymore than anyone else, and his instincts are usually correct. I can understand if WILLIAMS gave him a shot and he lost a game for us, but that shit hasnt happened yet.
