Did anyone else watch Comcast postgame? (Lavar Related)

LaVar isn't a team player. That's all.

You all keep buying their BS because apparently coaches never cover up the truth and everything is just the way they say it is. Why then is Williams using the same reasons why he loved LaVar last year as his reasons for keeping him out of the lineup this year? And those of you who think that performance is the real reason he's not on the field(particularly FRPLG) please explain to me how Holdman has outperformed Arrington, because all I know about Holdman is he does an awesome Invisible Man impression.

I really don't believe there are ulterior motives as to why LaVar isn't playing.

I don't think it has anything to do with Holdman outperforming him as much as it has to do with what Holdman doesn't do (freelance), and what Arrington doesn't do (stay honest to the schemes).

Williams has said that he expects his guys to practice the way they play. If Arrington isn't proving himself in practice, why should he be playing?

This staff has already set this precedent with players like McCants. You either practice the way you play or you don't play on Sundays.

Are anyone of us out on the practice fields? I didn't think so. none of us know what he does and doesn't do in practice. We are all going on what we know. And nobody was even talking about LaVar doesn't do this, he freelances too much when he was out there destroying people. When he was getting 11 sacks and over 100 tackles. When he got interceptions that turned our season around. We are going by what we are told. which I think, and I dont believe I am the only one, is a load of crap. You can not tell me that LaVar isn't a team player and doesn't do what is asked. He is as talented a player at LB that there is. And to think he doesn't "fit in" is rediculous. A player of his calibur fits in anywhere. And when or if he goes somewhere else we all better pray its not for someone we play on a regular basis, because he will stick it in our face every time we play him.

Occam's Razor baby-simplest answer is usually the right answer. They don't like what they see in practice they're not ready to play him.

maybe lavar free lancing alittle right now might not be a bad thing.over the last 2 weeks there have a couple of big runs against us.you can say what you want about lavar being out of position,but i think we are all in agreement that when #56 is on the feild,he is a playmaker.as far as holdman,he is servicable but guys like him you can pick up anytime.with the question of ego,maybe its g williams with the big ego trying to prove to people that no matter who the skins trot out on defense,they will suceed because of his superior schemes

Exactly, and what we know from what Williams has said is clear, he's not happy with what LaVar has shown him in practice.

Williams is a straight shooter, why would he BS this?

People are really reaching here, I guess it's just too hard to believe that LaVar couldn't possibly do anything wrong.

What I don't get is fans have gotten on LaVar in the past for his complaining and other things. It's always poor, poor LaVar, and we smacked him for that. Poor LaVar got screwed over in his contract... poor LaVar didn't want to play DE under Lewis... poor LaVar feels unappreciated, etc.

Now people are coming to his defense... I don't get it.

Face it guys, LaVar has brought many of these things on himself, why is this any different?

All of a sudden now people have a million excuses for him, when before it was shut up LaVar and just play.

Why people are supporting him and questioning the coaches is beyond me.

It is more than athletic ability in a disciplined defense that you need to suceed. No one believes Arrington is not a team player and wants to do what is best for the team. Linebacker is about instincts and reads, knowing where to be at the right time. He is not showing that within this defense which requires the LB's to do a great deal of studying and understanding the scheme. It's not about if I make this tackle across the field when I should have been in position for the cutback that went to the house because I overpursued or ran up field trying to get to the QB for the big sack and the back ran right by me. It is nothing more then Holdman is playing within in that, not flashy but getting the job done. As much as I hate having Lavar not playing, I stopped questioning them after the Brunell Ramsey deal and letting Smoot and Pierce and Coles go. There interest in the team succeeding is just as great as us fans who are questioning them and they have more on the line to make the best decisions let's say your career, your Hall of Fame name, they have a lot of pride and interest in the success of this organization.

Whenever there was a Lavar thread in the past I'd reply with "Who is Lavar Arrington". Some would call me a Lavar hater but I really am not. I just couldn't understand why there such a big fuss made over this guy. I know he's a fan favorite and high draft pick but let me ask the question again: WHO IS LAVAR ARRINGTON?

A lot of you guys talk like he's Lawrence Taylor or even Ray Lewis. HE IS NOT. Not even close. What I have seen is a guy with a ton of potential who hasn't done much for us. Pro Bowls are overrated to the point that's it become a joke. And how guys can side with Lavar over Greg Williams is beyond me. I've been a Skins fan for like 25 years and I think Williams is the best defensive coach we've ever had. I might even say that our D the last couple years is the best I've ever seen. And now guys are questioning him cuz of Lavar? What has Lavar done? He sacked Aikman and returned a ball (tipped right into his hands) for a TD. So? Did he turn us into a top-5 D? Has he led us to the playoffs?

As for the consipracy theories - also makes no sense. How does keeping a fan favorite and huge chunk of our cap on the sidelines help the coaches at all? Does it make our organization look good when our biggest cap hit and supposed franchise player are sitting on the bench? No. If anything it makes us look stupid for a change. So I wonder - despite all these factors working in his favor, Lavar still can't earn his way onto the field?

Again I am not a Lavar hater. I'd also love to see him come back strong and contribute to this team. But there is no way I'm siding with LA on this one, not when GW and Gibbs are sitting on the other side.

Also, we should consider ourselves EXTREMELY LUCKY to have a coaching staff that has the balls and credibility to even be able to bench a guy like Arrington. On many other teams he'd be playing undeservedly just because of his big contract.
