I know I usually hate the losing team bitching about the refs too but...

1. NO CALL- Block in the back to score Bell. Washington was clearly blocked in the back. Even on vid clip into commercial.

2. BAD CALL- Called a safety in Live play, reviewed and judged tuck rule. Utter bullshit!!!

3. NO CALL- Pass Interference on Cooley during the last drive of the game.

4. BAD SPOT- Several bad spots during crucial times.

5. BAD CALL- Holding on Jansen???? Yeah...

I know it sounds like a bitter homer but I swear that shits not fair!!! I mean you review the safety call. And reverse it??? Are you kidding???

we got a couple too, the spear and the out of bounds by moss. Both are more questionable than those stupid ones you just named. yeah we probally came out on the bad end but i believe the officials in this game didn't mean to do it, they just really suck at their jobs.

i'm not gonna get into it. we lost, and i damn sure hate it when an opposing teams fan says the only reason they lost was because of some penalties, so i'm not gonna get into it. imo, we shouldn't have let the game get that close if penalties had that big of an impact.

I agree. The refs. seem to get worse year by year. Part of it is some of them just suck. Part of it is the leagues fault. They make so many rules the refs. can't possible watch and catch everything. They are setup for failure. I mean, come on, holding. Holding happens on every play, so why call it on the far side of the field away from the play. It gets old. It is quite sad that we all know the names of 90% of the head officials. That shows they get way too much tv time. Is is very frustrating to watch every big play and expect it to be called back. We got killed by that yesterday. It does suck having to bitch about them after a loss, but I have been complaining about them for years, even in the games we win.

NFL Refs are Part-time employees and that is the basic problem. The guys are dentists and lawyers who are Refs during the season.

They should be made fulltime dedicated employees who work out and study rules and film in the off season.

They flat out SUCK and this has been a per peeve of mine for years.

grrrrr

When the umpire (who, thankfully, is OK) was knocked out of the game for several plays, I turned to my brother and said "Well, maybe with fewer refs, they'll miss some of these shitty calls."

The officiating wasn't good, but it wasn't completely one-sided. Cooley was interfered with. Patton made incidental contact with a defender who wasn't looking at the ball. Moss was almost certainly out of bounds - I would have challenged that failed challenge on principle if I was Shanahan (throw the red flag again and slap the ref with a white glove - "There's your challenge, pistols at dawn!").

I have no beef with complaining about the officiating in this game, so long as it doesn't turn into "the refs stole the game!" We got a few calls, and lost a few more. The refs didn't allow two long TD runs, though.

Even with the instant replay's they still get the calls all messed up.

"I'd like throw the red-flag on the score!!" :)

I was most frustrated by the unnecessary stoppage of play. There were SO many times when the refs were blowing the whistle before the snap to come in and reset the ball or some crap. And there were WAY too many conferences between the officials. The head ref needs to manage the game flow better, things need to be quicker. The game was unnecessarily long because of them.

I'm sure all this shit has been going on for 30 - 40 years. The difference is the new technology. There are about 6 thousand cameras on the game now and as an audience, we see a hell of a lot more than we used to. So we are now able to see more penalties, holdings, clips, spears, etc.

I agree. The only ones that really bothered me were the Patten Interference, which we scored on the drive anyways so whatever; dosent make a difference.

The saftey was called right. It was obviously a tuck rule play (unless it was passed "backwards" as some people have said, which I havent seen the replay so i dont know). But if it did go forward, it was a tuck rule. Bottom line, its just a stupid rule. Nobody in their mother would think that Jake Plummer was trying to pass the ball right there, same for Brady in 2001, so I dont know why they rule it a pass. It was the right call on a stupid rule.

The penalty (noncall) that upset me the most was Cooleys PI. That was alot of valuble time lost because we didnt get the call that play. I'm pretty sure if you ask any fan, Redskin, Bronco, Cowboy, they all would have said that was pass interference. It was THAT bad. Those are the types of noncalls that really chap my ass. I mean it was so blatent it wasent even funny. I guess I could understand the Patten call, it was bs, but I could listen to the argument. I wouldnt even listen to the argument for a no call right there.

Whatever, I've vented. But like Mooby said; if it was that close, we shouldnt have let the penalties decide it. We still had our chances. Yesterday, in defeat, awnsered alot of questions I had about our football team, and needless to say I'm alot more confident about them after yesterdays loss, than I was after any of their wins.
