Someone posted an article on here about the most valuable sports franchises in America. I can't find it via the search function and was wondering if someone had it. Friend doesn't believe the skins are worth more than the Yankees.
I'm also interested in the world, I'm sure teams such as Real Madrid blow us away, but I'm curious where we rank!

I actually think we're second to Manchester United and that's it.

And the newest list, which I can't seem to find says the skins are worth 1.3 while the soccer list hasn't been recompiled yet. It has been Man U, Skins for a couple years now though. Real Madrid is somewhere in the top 5 with NE and Dallas.

It is not the Yankees, in Anerica it is the Skins. NFL teams are worth more than MLB teams because they just simply make more money. NFL teams have the best national TV deal, THE biggest sports event of the year(in this country anyway), and a salary cap. The revenue sharing makes all teams profitable as well as competitive. Compare the Yankee's aprox. $210 million team salary vs the Skins' $85 million. Even though the Yankees have a pretty good TV deal with the YES network, it can't compare with the 32 way split of the NFL contract. Think about the fact that each week there are NFL games on 4 different major channels. The Skins are worth more than all other NFL team simply becuase it is near DC and no matter what they ask for ticket prices they get.

Tickets actually make up only a small fraction of their revenue. Since owning the Skins Danny boy has been relentless in his marketing which something like quintupled their sale of merchandise. They haven't raised tickets in years even though they probably could. He justs continues to add seats to the stadium.
