MTK 10-04-2005, 12:27 PM some advice to all: use bradshaw more as a source of entertainment than anything else. He is A LOT less annoying that way. I'd apply that advice to the entire Fox studio crew. dblanch66 10-04-2005, 12:37 PM I really like the point he makes about how nobody has any patience anymore. It's so true, just look at all the idiots calling for Gibbs' head halfway through last season. Some people wrote off Joe Gibbs off before even giving him a real chance. He went from hero to zero in 8 games, and based on that he was given absolutely no chance this year as these unsubstantiated rumors kept flying how he would quit if the Skins struggled again this year. The media as a whole really has their collective heads up their asses sometimes. And it's so fun to see them proven wrong, especially when we knew what the real story was here. Those who said Gibbs would quit display their ignorance about him. Anyone who knows anything about Joe, knows that that is not his nature. He will be here until a title is won and then turn over the kingdom to G. Williams. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 10-04-2005, 01:42 PM Matty: Actually, you can't let all the "Warpathers" off the hook so easily. Remember after Week 1 when we had threads devoted to how the players could not possibly ever trust Joe Gibbs again. Leaping to conclusions affects lots of people - - and not all of them are on TV or write for newspapers or for Internet sites... Here we go again. FYI, there is a tendency to lump many of us who bashed Gibbs' decision to bench Ramsey with those who called Gibbs an idiot. I disagreed with his decision (while recognizing that he knows a hell of a lot more about football than I do) but I also admitted that I could be wrong. I didn't like how Gibbs went back on his word by proclaiming Ramsey the starter for 05' and yanking him after less than one game. It will be perfectly appropriate to rub my nose in it (I'll be very happy to eat crow) if, at season's end (or even by Week 8) we did very well (8-8). It's still a tad early. skinsfan0201 10-04-2005, 10:29 PM I really don't dislike Bradshaw or Jimmy Johnson, but I personally do not put much stock in their opinions unless have heard the opinion expressed by other more credible sources many times before. Therefore, for him to be eating crow is not a huge realization. Just my two cents..... SUNRA 10-04-2005, 10:47 PM Well said, Within this website is an amazing amount of debate over what is an obsession for us all. Our beloved SKINS. We can take any position on any issue. Regardless of which side of the fence you are on, like it or don't. Old man GIbbs has built us a competative FOOTBALL team. They will ONLY get better..............fast. ENJOY I think the Washington Redskins fans have been very patient and optimistic throughout the years even when we had no promising players. Time is on our side. We have weathered the storm of defeat. Now let's start seeing beyond the surprise and glee of winning 3-0 and seriously begin to see us as a legitimate contender for the NFC East Division. |
