firstdown 09-28-2005, 04:50 PM I actually laughed at the sarcasm...don't be hatin!! I think offiss is just giving us a realistic reminder that our offense is anemic, our special teams needs to be vastly improved, and we got pretty lucky in the last game. That being said, for some reason Seattle doesn't scare me. Not having any decent draft pics next year scares me, Seattle this week does not. I think we'll be 3-0 and the talk of the league next week. That being said, if we don't find some offense, and soon, we will do a swan dive later this season.I would not call our win over D lucky. Now if we would have picked up a droped punt and scored and then an IT and scored that would have been luck. Moss went to Gibbs with taking a route down field and it worked. They ran the play again and it worked. We won that game with skill it just took 55min to find the right play.

Good point. Those two plays to Moss were nowhere near "luck". We played with heart and hung in the game until the end. We won, and thats the whole point. Like Herm Edwards says "you play to win the game". Simple and plain.
illdefined 09-28-2005, 05:05 PM be realistic to why the *media* says this stuff about us. seriously folks, if we weren't homers, what would you think of our team?
any time there's been big hopeful changes and hype in a redskins offseason, any media person who ever took the bait would get seriously burned. no one's going to take that bait again, especially with a 1st week QB switch to the worst QB in the NFL last season. objectively, everyone knows (and saids) our D is good but that only got us 6 wins last year and not enough has changed in THEIR eyes to think any different.
PLEASE STOP BEING SURPRISED OR ANGERED by these media guys, rankings and graphic omissions. we're the fans and they are the analysts, as such they have absolutely no analytical reason to say anything better about us.
nothing but regular offensive TDs (and not FGs) will change anyone's opinion of the Skins (some fans included), and no, Brunell's 4th quarter heaves aren't regular. though hopefully they will come to be.
We could do without the tinge of sarcasm.
We get it, you love to dish on your favorite team.
To each his own, but I don't get it when fans are so pessimistic. I guess you could argue it's being realistic in a way, but what fun is that when you're talking about your favorite football team.
I can't speak for everyone, but football is a type of escape from my everyday real life reality. How fun is it to doubt and second guess every move that your so called favorite team makes? I have enough doom and gloom in my normal life, I don't need to carry it over to my hobbies and things I enjoy.
Just my 2 cents, I guess I'll never understand what joy there is in crapping on your team.

You're assuming the media is completely unbiased and 100% knowledgeable regarding every team in the league... neither is true.
paulskinsfan 09-28-2005, 05:21 PM Actually our special teams are pretty good coverage-wise. I'm waiting to see some big returns however.
Man, I watched the 4th quarter of the Ring of Horror Game again last night. Nick Novack should've received a game ball, because if he doesn't knock that kick returner (was it Tyson Thompson?) out of bounds, then the guy at the very least gets them into field goal range and it would've been OUR Ring of Horror Game. I have been disappointed with special teams thus far.
Gmanc711 09-28-2005, 05:22 PM Hey, at least they recognized us as an upbeaten team. Some people dont even want to do that.

Stop now, even though we're 2-0 we shouldn't piss and moan when the media doesn't acknowledge it. We should just take our medicine and like it.

sure, but they're not all biased or ignorant to one specific team in unison.

being left out of an empirical stat graphic is one thing, being expected by the media to stay undefeated amoung the top teams is another thing entirely
