Please, not another Jets - Ramsey debate.

I think we have that thread well established already.

Rivers and Leinhart are college QB's that won't be any good in the NFL for couple of years. The Jets want somebody ready right now. They have a good D and a playoff team; their window for getting to SB is now. They do not have time to groom a rookie. They may want Ramsey this year and up their offer.
Gibbs and Snyderatto should send Ramsey over to the Jets for a work out. I think Ramsey could impress them with his arm strength.
Gibbs did give up on QB Jay Schroeder and traded him to the Raiders for Jim Lachey.

pennington blew out the rotator cuff. i just want to say that i like ramsey, i have wanted and want ramsey to succeed here. but, i 'm not the coach and i defer to gibbs completely. does that mean he's correct 100% of the time. no, but we all know that he does things out of his desire to see this team succeed. let's remember he's staked his name on this. he didn't have to come back. but i am sure glad he did.C'mon Skins

Looking ahead to QBs possibly available in the offseason-how long do the Bucs plan on keeping both Griese and Chris Simms? And what are the Bears going to do with Grossman/Orton? Will they both stay?

I would think they would be able to afford them both if they all play well.

We can't get rid of Ramsey during the season. We need a capable backup.

simms and orton aren't exactly high priced... and neither griese or grossman have the type of deals brees or rivers have i don't believe.

It's kind of ironic that all of a sudden a QB who hold's the ball to long, throws to many INT's, has glue on the bottom of his cleets, can't beat out a QB who has 2 100 yd passing games in his last seven games, is now a capable backup, you mean to tell me a top flight rookie like Campbell can't back up a QB of Brunell's capabilities? We all know Gibbs really likes Bryson Spinner, he has spoke very well of him in the pre-season, it's funny how valuable Ramsey is all of a sudden, I really don't understand why? Didn't any of you see that Giant game last year he threw 3 INT's, we can't afford to keep a player around who did something like that, why wouldn't we want to get whatever we can for him? 2,3,4, whatever, it's better than nothing, it's not like his value is going to go up sitting on the bench, it wont be higher in the off season, if theres any chance of getting any value for Ramsey it's right now, the Jets are desperate, it's not like Gibbs will overestimate his talent, unless you want to look at Rod Gardner as an example, but I think that should be thrown out as just one of those things and shouldn't really count now.

I don't understand the reasoning? Gibbs wont let the guy sniff the field because he stinks, yet he wont trade him because he doesn't stink, I would think it would be addition by subtraction, we would be better without him, and the Jet's would be worse with him.

What is the fascination with Ramsey, didn't anyone watch him play for 19 minutes against the Bears, that's all we needed to see to know this guy doesn't belong in the NFL!

This might come to a shock to some of us but we may be in the playoff hunt soon, we have a chance, we can be 3-0 by sunday and then have to go 6-7 the rest of the year to have a good shot. Brunell has to go another 14 straight games(hopefully not only 14) and the chance that old bag gets injured is not low, if he does get hurt at our mid point where we might even have 6 games we can't throw away the season just because he is out 6 weeks, Ramsey can come back in and lead then team to 3-4 wins the rest of the season.

I would only get rid of Ramsey for a first rounder, that is unlikly to happen and if reports say the most that we get for him is a 4th then he is gonna sit on the bench and wait.

I seem to remember stating that I think Ramsey is good enough to start with any team, including the Redskins, but the fact is - being able to start and being a leader are two different things. So, it's quite reasonable to say that Ramsey is an extremely capable backup.
