Jets In The Market For Qb! (MEGA MERGE)Schneed10 09-27-2005, 02:07 PM Got a link? I'm not finding this. Hog1 09-27-2005, 02:12 PM Got a link? I'm not finding this. Dan Patrick is reporting on the radio right now Theismann's Good Leg 09-27-2005, 02:14 PM Lenny P talked about it during his chat on ESPN too. As long as we're winning we need to have a somewhat competant backup. If we're 5-2 and Brunell goes down, I don't think that Gibbs will want to play Campbell. Ramsey has to stay this year. Paintrain 09-27-2005, 02:15 PM I think the reason the Redskins aren't interested in trading Ramsey right now is simple. They are 2-0 and in first place and looking at the schedule there is a very good chance they can be 6-2, 5-3 at the midpoint of the season. With a minor injury to Brunell, Ramsey can come in for 1-2 games and be effective at this point whereas Campbell probably cannot. If they were 0-2, they would probably be more inclined to make the deal because the chances of a playoff season would be a lot less.. It's good to know the Jets have interest though, that way you know of at least one team interested in trading for Ramsey after the season.. skins052bgr8 09-27-2005, 02:16 PM Reports on ESPN say Testaverde set to re join jets. CRT3 09-27-2005, 02:16 PM http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2173731 skins052bgr8 09-27-2005, 02:20 PM http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2173731 Makes sense, Gibbs is going to do what is best for the Skins and trading Ramsey would not be smart so not a surprise that they declined the trade, he feels that Ramsey is serviceable but just not the best 1st option. He can come in and win us some games and knows the offense, rather put ourselves in a position like the jets and have to bring in another QB who has to learn the system and we have a Veteran QB and two QBs that do not know or can run this offense or the playbook effectively if Brunell were to go down in the next game or two. Hog1 09-27-2005, 02:26 PM Dan Patrick show reporting the new, new rumor is PR is viewed as the long term answer for the Jets. They expect PR and his agent, Jimmy Sexton to turn up the heat on the Skins to cut a deal celts32 09-27-2005, 02:34 PM I heard John Clayton on ESPN Radio this morning and he speculated that Ramseys value is no more than a 4th rounder at this point. Anyone who thinks at this point they can get anywhere near a 1st round pick for Ramsey is crazy. he was only the last pick of round #1 as a rookie and if anything his value has dropped considerably since then. They are better off holding him as insurance than getting a day 2 draft pick for him. Defensewins 09-27-2005, 02:37 PM Unless the Jets offer their first round pick, they should hold on to Ramsey. A bidding war could start, especially if another team loses a QB or two. Does Ramsey become an unrestricted free agant after this season? |
