well his season's over again. i think we should cut our losses, mainly because imo he's injured too often to make a big impact. we're thin at dt now.

After their experiences with Lavar and Barrow last year, their moving folks to IR right away. Makes sense here--wonder if he'll be back?
Didn't want to hear that. I was looking for more like "progressing ahead of schedule" "likely to be ready for the Seattle game". Note to G. Williams: time for another of your generic Reggie White's

They must see something in Jones to promote him straight away without looking at other FA's?

I BELIEVE that once a player goes on IR there is no benefit to the team in terms of cap space in cutting him. I defer to Crazy Canuck as the capology expert here on that issue; but if that is the case, there are no "losses to cut" by jettisoning Noble.
I said somewhere else that I was hoping he could come back and play because he's the kind of player you can't help rooting for. The football gods have not been kind to Noble since he came to Washington.
Bye-bye Noble.
The guy has a ton of heart, but his body is failing him. He's probably done.

Noble was already looking like a cap casualty in 2006, so he could be gone soon.
Then again there's no real benefit in cutting him now so another option would be to keep him on IR in 2005, then if he can come back strong in 2006, restructure his contract and keep him.

I don't see that happening.....how much stronger can he be after three consecutive knee surgeries? It would be easier and more cost effective to develop younger talent at this point anyway.

Biggest thing is being on the practice squad, he knows the defense, and should be able to fill in right away. A FA would have to learn it, so it would be a few weeks before an impact could be made, whereas Jones can possibly make one right away.
That sucks for Noble. Good guy, hard worker, just too bad he couldn't stay healthy.
Sounds like Noble is going to stick around as an assistant to Blache.
