Did anyone else catch the little tidbit from Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson:

"Carolina Panthers wide receiver Rod Gardner was active over the weekend after sitting out the team's loss to New Orleans. But his progress is still slow, and hopes of him having an early impact in the passing game have evaporated.
There have been grumbles from within the organization that Gardner wasn't putting in the necessary time off the field to learn Carolina's offense, and that his Week 1 scratch was intended as a message. Currently listed as the No. 4 receiver, Gardner is going to be used only in running situations until the Panthers feel he's ready to contribute. "

Until he's ready to contibute that fantastic new dimension of dropping balls and playing soft to the gameplan?

So far we are ahead of the game with our changes at WR. Patten has a few catches but I feel he will just improve. Moss for Coles right now looks like we made a great trade. I'm sure cloes will get his numbers up but hey Moss just won a game being 50/50. Thats 50% him and 50% Brunell.

I never thought the guy was a slacker. I just thought he wasn't any good. Glad to see he is not gracing us with his stellar work ethic.

he could play backup QB. He was close to leading out team in passing touchdowns last year...which only seems like an accomplishment if you dont look at how few touchdowns we had.

Where are the Gardner supporters now?

I thought he was going to explode with Carolina?

I always wanted Moss over Gardner. What is telling is how Schotenheimer has demonstrated no interest at all in him, since becoming the Coach in SD. They need receivers more than anyone.
