I'd love that cuz right now I know I'd be happy if we get anything for him other than a cap hit. Does anyone know the name of the mlb from Georgia Tech? If we could trade trotter for a good enough pick to get him that would awesome. I remember seeing him around almost every play last year when they showed GT games on the local channel covering ACC games.

Get rid of LaVar.

Whoever agrees with this statement is insane. LaVar is one of the most talented players in the N.F.L. To say that he is overrated is awful....he is our only consistant pro-bowler now that Champ is gone, he changes the the offense-how many plays are ran AT LaVar, he has the ability to take over a game (Dallas 2 years ago), or even arguably turn a season around (Carolina game during Marty's term. He is not even near his potential yet. Since he has been in the league he has never had the same coach twice except for Spurrier who doesn't even count. Anyone who has seen him play at Penn State knows what he can do with a real coach. With someone like Gibbs and Williams there is know telling what he will be able to do. The simple fact that LaVar has stuck with this franchise when he could have easily not signed a contract extention and signed with a team that is an instant contender. He has stated several times that he wants to be a Redskin for his whole career. He has put all his contract issues to the side because he did WILL be one of the greatest Redskins and linebackers ever!!!!

I dunno, if someone gets the name we could look at draft boards to see how high hes ranked and whether he coudl be a day two pick for us.

Still no news on holdman?

Before I even start my possible theory, light your torches and gather the angry mob, you have a Daseal to lynch.

Get rid of LaVar. As of now we could get a lot for him and we've been bolstering our depth at Linebacker. Not only could this save us a huge amount in the cap (Canuck might be able to expand furthur) it also would give us a lot of young talent.

LaVar is a great player and I love to watch him play, but he isn't exactly what the Redskins dreamed he would be. He's a great player, but I think somewhat overrated, like Offiss (I think) said. He hit's like a mack truck, but somehow seems to roll off, or he just overpursues. He never turned into the team leader everyone thought he would, and he seems more than reluctant to take that job, our lord and savior, Fred Smoot has taken that job over and is doing it well.

LaVar's trade value would be out of this world right now. We could have an amazing draft and we could bolster the D line without sacrificing anything but one player. I know this won't be popular, and I'm not even sure if I support it (depends on how the contract/NFLPA stuff works out.) But I could definitly see Snyder/Cerratto/Gibbs thinking about it!

I have to say Daseal good job, I am with you on this one, although it's probably the 2 of us against everyone here, I really haven't givin much thought into trading lavar, but I think you are right, washington could step into his spot in a heartbeat, as well I think we would bring back a lot of talent in this draft for him, but we have to be able to cut through lavar's personality, he is who people identify our team with, but I pesonally think other team's will go after the name and over look the substance, no different than us, he may be the most replaceable player we have, I just don't see team's lining up to stop him, he constantly misses tackle's and he's easily blocked by linemen so what is it on the field wise that make's him so special? We have been waiting and waiting for the real lavar to show up my feeling is he already has.

I think that enough rumors about us getting rid of our top starters in hopes of replacing them for talent is getting ridicolous. Ramsey, Samuels, Bailey, Gardner, Trotter, Iffy, etc.... We have all this talk about peopel being REDSKINS, yet we keep offering to get rid of our core group of players in hopes of mabye drafting someone good. Anyone else think that we need to stop trying to get rid of people and just add some rookies, and build our team for the first time in years.

Snyder doubled the price of programs, probably just becuase of how often hes going ot have to change the roster.

Trade Arington??? What's next, getting rid of all-star Ade Jimoh?

...but he's undisciplined and cannot diagnose plays like elite linebackers do (Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks, Takeo Spikes, etc . . .), which limits his effectiveness against savy playcalls. For all that speed, why can't he ONCE stop McNabb from scrambling on a key 3rd down??

You know what? I wholeheartedly agree with these statements. As phenomenal a player Lavar Arrington is, there are several other linebackers in the league right now who are playing better, and have proved much more. Lewis, Brooks, Urlacher, just to name a few.

And Showtime is right! When was the last time Arrington stopped McNabb on a crucial 3rd down conversion? The last truly game changing play he's made was the sack of Kurt Warner in the Rams game back in the '02 season.

While I don't agree we should trade Arrington, I was hoping for much more when we drafted him. One game-breaking play in two years is a little lacking for a player everyone talks about like he's some sort of god.

Still, I'd like to see what he can do in a Gregg Williams defense.

I think Lavar has always changed how defenses play us, hes in on every play. Hes ended QBs careers, and took our Brett Farve the week before he was goign to break the durability streak or something liek that. The play against the Rams had a lot to do with Gardner as well, not to take away from Lavar. I think the new coaching staff will get more out of him, he seems to get down easy and the extra motivation this year should help him become more of a leader. Trotter was always the captain and leader out there, im not sure if I agreed with that for any reason other than the fact he was the middle LB
