Maybe it’s not in terms of final standings, but in terms of pure gratification, where does the “Monday Night Miracle” or the “Ring of Horror” game stack up. Is it the biggest, or most gratifying victory since the Super Bowl win over the Bills?

I can think of a few others since January 26, 1992. Here they are:

-- 20-17 win over the Cowboys at RFK in the ’92 season. The Fumble, as it’s known

-- 26-20 overtime win over the 49ers in San Fransisco to capture the NFC East title in 1999.

-- The playoff win over the Detroit Lions (think it was 27-14) in the ’99 season.

-- 33-20 Monday night victory over the Rams in St. Louis in 2000.

I think this is by far the biggest win since the last super Bowl.

The significance of the 1999 playoff year wins were diminished by the bonehead front office moves after that season.

Time will tell, however. If we make the playoffs this year, this game will be the reason. When, ahem, if, we win the Super Bowl in the next 4 years this game will be pointed to as the turning point.

I'd say the playoff win in 1999 was bigger. This was the most emontial victory though. I never actually thought we'd lose in 99'. I thought we'd lose this game until the clock hit :00. I was so worried.

You are right about the win over lions in 1999. I was at the game and the stadium was half empty in the second half because we had won the game in the first half...

Beemnseven, this to me was the biggest win since all of those things you've mentioned above. Let me put it to you this way. I started following the Skins when I was 8 or 9 and I am 36 now. I remember how bad I felt when the Cowboys knocked out the Skins in the last game of the season in 1979. Since that point in time, I have always hated the Cowboys and love it anytime the Skins beat them. Last night I felt some measure of redemption for all of the suffering we have all been through for the past 10 years or more. The Skins may not win another game this season, but WE BEAT THE COWBOYS AT HOME IN FRONT OF THEIR CROWD!!! That is Awesome. Did you come up with the "Ring of Horror" I love it!

No, I got that one from the Nickname thread.

I wasn't paying attention to the game in 1979, (I was 5) but the loss that stings the most for me was in the '91 season at home to the Cowpies 24-21. 11-0 up to that point, and they ruin any thought of a perfect season -- and I truly think we were ripe for it.

I beat you all for age.

Worst game was F*cking Clint Longley ruining my Thansgiving dinner.

This is easily best since XXVI.

Never have we been so low and dug so deep so late in the game.

With all the boulders stacked against us, they never gave up. Not a coach, not a new kicker, not d-back.

They just said no.

I think I drank half the coffee in columbia today.

Hail

Easily the best win since Super Bowl XXVI...

They were expected to win the playoff game against Detroit...if they had followed it up by winning that Divisional Playoff game the next week against the big mouth Bucs that would have been bigger than last night.
