I was curious about WR T.Jacobs injury. He walked off, but I don't believe I saw him back in. Nor have I seen an injury report.

Yes! But I also think he can be a good backup. Is he washed up? Or can he be a good back-up? Can you actually be both? illdefined 09-20-2005, 05:40 PM Is he washed up? Or can he be a good back-up? Can you actually be both? of course you can. if we have a lead, Brunell could be a good back up, he's good at minimizing mistakes. and as he proved in the preseason and last night, he can really shine for LIMITED amounts of time. he is 35. it's *getting the lead* that's the problem. offiss 09-20-2005, 05:41 PM Is he washed up? Or can he be a good back-up? Can you actually be both? Yes he can, and here's how it works, when a player gets to a point where he's to old, and he cannot maintain his energy level over long periods of time, as well he takes extended periods of time to heal after a game, and over the coarse of time his weeknesses become more apparent, but his skill level can still be effective in short spurts off the bench occasionally, because he's had time to recharge his batteries persay, predominatly that's what's happed with QB's in the past, someone who know's how to run an offense who is not going to be surprised if called upon without notice, and can hold down the fort until the starter comes back, take on backup roles. So yes he can be washed up as a starter, yet be effective as a backup if called upon in limited circumstances. |
