I don't know, the whole idea of Campbell playing earlier rather than later is starting to wear on me.

My only thing is I feel we are really a playoff contender and I don't like rookie QBs in that situation - Big Ben was an anamoly (sp), IMO.

I don't see it happening either.

I believe he'll challenge for the job next year, but he won't see the field this year unless it's due to injury or we're out of the race.

I believe Dallas is wearing their blue throwbacks, therefore we'll be in our home whites.

I think we all should consider the fact that at the price Coach Gibbs paid to get Jason Campbell the future for him is sooner than we think. I'm willing to give Campbell the benefit of the doubt. Hell, Cowher could never imagine Rothlisberger winning 15 out of 16 games his first year. What about Tom Brady, Brian Leftwich and Eli Manning replacing veteran . Jason Campbell could learn and adjust to this offense faster than expected.

I have always been of the school of thought that you have to throw your quarterback to the wolves. Troy Aikman and Peyton Manning both did it, and both had disappointing, but expected rookie performances, but learned from those mistakes and blossomed into marquee QBs.

The other thing to consider is that this isn't 1986 anymore. The days of drafting a quarterback, creating fake injuries and moving them to injured reserve for 2 to 3 seasons while they carry the clipboard and sit in the film room before coming anywhere close to the field of play are long gone.

If you draft a QB in the first round, skyrocketing salaries and the cap dictate that you must find out what you've got in your high draft pick sooner rather than later. Of course, coaches who follow this plan are often looked at like they're throwing in the towel and essentially chalking up that season as a learning experience because they know in their hearts their team isn't going anywhere. Look at Parcells last year: Drew Henson is sitting on the sidelines, with practically zero experience throwing passes in the NFL, but even the Cowboys firmly out of position to make the playoffs, he continues with Testaverde knowing full well that Vinny's time in Dallas is very short, along with his career in the NFL altogether.

I don't think they should start Jason Campbell ... yet. Give it to Brunell, let them see what he's got left, then if Mark resorts to last year's form, you might as well give Campbell all the playing time he can get. To me, Patrick Ramsey has all but proven he's simply not capable of being a starting quarterback in the NFL.

I hope that Brunell lights it up and doesn't let Campbell hit the field; if Campbell hits the field it means that we've essentially used this season as another "rebuilding year."
