They're choosing to avoid discussing the QB switch which I think is very lame.

I really doubt there is nothing Joe can say that will shed any more light on the switch.

True, but it's still a relevant issue to at least ask him once IMO.

Of course they are avoiding the issue. Why would the "official" forum of the Redskins put the coach in a bad position?

And that's another reason they should have addressed it with him.
The fact that they're avoiding it makes it seem like they don't want to bite the hand that feeds them.

Lets be honest though. This is obviuously exactly what everyone thought would happen when this deal went down. If they're not free to ask about it then what the hell good is the whole deal? Either they have no editorial control or they do. Don't act like they don't and then prove different. They can give all the reasons they want for not asking but it is clearly the most pressing issue of the day and if they don't allow questions about it then they are ignoring the biggest issue facing the team. That is ridiculous. Even if he does just give a pat answer then at least the question was asked and the opportunity offered to shed some light. If it never gets asked then we know for sure we wont get answers. It seems like maybe the motivation is more along the lines of we won't ask so we don't piss him off and that is very lame. He is aprofesional and I would bet he would find it odd that no questions about the Qb are even asked.

Exactly.
There should be no editing of the list of questions beyond choosing which questions will address the most pressing issues presented in the entire group of questions. Ignoring a bunch to dodge an issue seems fishy. Real fishy.

I thought of some questions but I decided not to send them in since I know what his answers will be. :biggthump
What a lame ass excuse!
To be fair to ES, I'd be conflicted if I were in their shoes as well.
If I were interviewing Gibbs, would I want to ruffle his feathers? Probably not.
Regardless, this is the quandary ES is stuck with. Anytime something like this happens, people are going to assume it's because of their ties with the team.

I am not worried about ruffling feathers honestly. The guy is a profesional football coach and I think his skin is thick enough to handle it appropriately. Plus he is always extolling the virtues of the "greatest fans in the league". I'd think he'd be at least receptive to hearing opinions and answering questions. Not that he'd parse any advice from such conversations but I think he'd at least humor us. He knew it was going to be an unpopular decision so I assume he'd be prepared to answer such questions. I don't know it just seems like by having the association they SHOULD be able to ask questions like that without worrying about repercussions. Whereas if thewarpath secured such an interview I can see why we'd want to softball the whole thing so as to keep him coming back. Not that a bragae of "you're an idiot! why did bench ramsey?" questions should be offered but the situation without a doubt deserves at least a reasoned question or two. Seems silly to ignore it.
