FRPLG 09-12-2005, 05:14 PM This is maybe the most logical intelligent thing I have ever heard him say. I am not saying I agree but it is hard to argue with what he says. Cambell probably could go 6 for 11 and make few mistakes with the way the Skins call plays.
TB is a dope who frequently says equally dopey things.
We didn't see anything from Campbell in the preseason to indicate he's ready to handle NFL defenses.
FRPLG 09-12-2005, 05:24 PM Oh I agree but with the dinks and dumps I think Campbell could do it. In my mind it is more a discussion of how conservative we went on Sunday. I know our defense is good but we need to open it up a bit more I would think just abotu everyone agrees. No matter who we are playing and no matter how good the defense is playing. Playing that way leaves no room for error at all.
Twilbert07 09-12-2005, 05:26 PM Bradshaw is a fool at times, but he knows whether a QB can run an offense.
Brunell didn't run the offense as much as turn to his left or right and throw a wide-out screen. If he does that too often next Monday, Roy Williams is going to grab one of the passes and walk into the endzone.

You just beat me to it FRPLG, I was starting to think that same thing, if Gibbs has it in for Ramsey, I don't want Brunell in there, maybe Bradshaw is right, is Campbell going to make more mistakes than Ramsey? Is he going to move the ball less than Brunell, I know I was probably the biggest detractor of Campbell, but as Bradshaw said if the guy is worthy of a #1 pick and all that we gave up for him, than under the circumstances maybe he should be in there, the little I saw of Campbell I was impressed in pre-season.
Even if he is a little confused he can get out of the pocket and run the ball upfield, really what does Brunell do with his legs other than run away from defenders and throw the ball away, he doesn't take the ball upfield and hurt the defense he just runs for his life. and throws it away.
I am thinking of changing my name like smootsmack did it will be - AOBB ANYONE BUT BRUNELL!

well i want ramsey to start, but i would rather have campbell than brunell...even if they suck just as much as each other. at least campbell has a future

I was at the game and way up high in the nose bleeds so I could watch the whole field. Ramsey was by far a more dangerous threat(both to us and the Bears!) QB. The Bears sat on Brunell after he floated that deep post and the offense went into hibernation after that. If not for an exceptional effort in run blocking by our line we lose that game. Ramsey will eliminate the mistakes I believe and should be starting if possible because at least it means we can run a decent offensive attack and not the disgusting display we saw after Brunell came in.
BrudLee 09-12-2005, 05:47 PM If Gibbs expects his starting QB to go 6-11, then by all means, start Campbell. We all know he expects more out of the position. It's idiotic to say that Game One went according to Gibbs's script. His starter got clotheslined out of the game - that's why he ended up 6-11. If not for adequate backup work by Brunell, and excellent running and defense, we wouldn't have won.

Excellent post FR, I agree 100%, thanks for the field observation it's tough to see that on a TV and make a 100% conclusion on what the entire defense is doing overall when a particular QB is in there, but your obsevation is exactly what my belief was, good job!
That Guy 09-12-2005, 08:46 PM man..... man.
there's a secondary problem though, now ramsey probably wants out, and i don't think anyone can blame him, then we got a 36 year old with lingering injuries last year that probably can't finish out the year, so campbell goes in and that's that... I don't think campbell will cost us any more game than brunell, if ramsey is done (according to gibbs), maybe we should consider it...
