Redskins vs. Bears Review

Just a review of what I saw at the game that you might not have seen in person.

First of all, it was fun meeting Gmanc and girlfriend who provided us with lots of beer and good food. On another note, I didn't make it inside the stadium until the second quarter because my girlfriend was passed out due to basically a 75% vodka, 25% OJ screwdriver prior to the game (I only blame myself). Another note about Redskins hospitality, as I was laying in the Green Lot parking seething because I didn't get to see the first quarter, people we didn't even know were stopping by to give ice packs, water and food to my girlfriend. Skins fans are definitely class acts.

When we finally made it into the game, I was entertained that Urlacher is probably the only jersey that they make for the Bears. There were definitely more Chicago fans than I expected, but most were fairly civil.

One thing I DO have to say: the 12th man is back!

Even before the series where the fans caused all those false starts, the stadium was ROCKING.

I definitely agree that FedEx started to feel like a Redskins stadium should. Maybe we'll get home field advantage back.

It was good... but it ought to be good more frequently.

This was week one, everyone was pumped. We need a loud crowd on 1st & 10, not just 3rd & long.

Contrast us with the Ravens game last night (it was the only other game I saw any of) That was a 12th man. We were excellent during the false-start-fest, and good other times. We need to be better, all the time.

I think the false starts and the unpenalized hit on Ramsey galvanized the crowd. Hopefully, we can drill it into the fans' heads that we can help the team without having to remind them by losing a player or waiting for the other team to screw up.

I agree with that assessment, I was going to say what a shame it was that losing Ramsey to a bs hit is what worked the fans up.
