Redskins vs. Bears pre-game/predictionsRedskinRat 09-08-2005, 11:45 AM And just to clarify, I see our D scoring two TD's. jermus22 09-08-2005, 11:57 AM I'm gonna say. . . Redskins 17, Bears 9. This prediction is gonna be a little odd since I'm gonna take a guess at what happens each quarter: 1st Quarter (Chicago 3, Washington 0): Chicago will get off an early drive running the football and throwing screens and short passes. Thomas Jones will account for most of the yards both rushing and receiving, and the screens will capitalize on early blitzes from the Redskins, but da Bears will only manage a field goal. Washington's offense will struggle initially, but find some rhythm in the running game as they mount a time-consuming drive in the closing minutes. 2nd (Washington 7, Chicago 6): Washington's long drive, consisting mostly of runs, will lead to a touchdown at the early/midway point of this quarter. Chicago's offense will falter, but a Redskin turnover will give them good field position and lead to another field goal. 3rd (Washington 10, Chicago 6): Mostly a defensive quarter although Washington's ability to pound the ball and protect the qb will allow us to get another drive (perhaps a punt return from Brown will help). Ramsey will settle down into a short passing attack to complement the running game, allowing us to get another field goal. 4th (Washington 17, Chicago 9): A big special teams play from Jerry Azumah will allow Chicago to get another field goal, but the Bears will fail to make a lot of yards. The final half of the quarter will see Ramsey get in sync with his receivers on a few passes, allowing one final drive with the running and passing game working together to produce a touchdown. That's my outrageous, stupid prediction (how many people really think all those specifics are gonna happen?). But I had fun doing it anyway. Truth is, I hope we destroy 'em 41-0. :smashfrea Red Robert 09-08-2005, 12:09 PM Final score: Redskins 27 Da Bears 13 I expect a score on defense, interception likely. I think Ramsey will play well but not stellar 12-20-140-1 TD Portis will have a big game 125 yards or more. Cooley and Nemo with TD'S I am a homer but I really have a good feeling about this game. Defense will give up some big gains but will force FG's. Lets win this one stay healthy and get ready for Dallas. backrow 09-08-2005, 12:28 PM If Ramsey has one turnover and less than four sacks, the Redskins win 21, Chicago 7. Special teams is key in this game. We need Antonio Brown to get us near the middle of the field to allow Ramsey, Moss and Portis room to work. 2 TDs on offense. 1 TD from the defense. INT return from Sean Springs. SUNRA presents a ray of sun in this thread. My pick: B&G 21 dabears 13. TheMalcolmConnection 09-08-2005, 01:20 PM I'm not sure many points the SKINS will score, but I really don't see the Bears getting more than 10. That Guy 09-08-2005, 03:38 PM skins win and cover, take the under, that's all that realy matters. Schneed10 09-08-2005, 04:15 PM Is Ditka in the stands, or sitting on his ass at home because he couldn't hold an NFL job? On his ass at home, you say? Da Skins 93 Da Bears -10 Schneed10 09-08-2005, 04:21 PM For a serious prediction, I'll say: Redskins 20 Bears 10 I see us getting on top in this game in the first half and grinding it out. On the opening offensive drive we come out running right at them. Mainly with Portis, but some Betts mixed in. Ramsey hits Cooley and Patten on key 3rd down conversions to sustain the drive. Drive culminates in a short TD pass to Cooley. First defensive series sets the tone. Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson go nowhere against us. Orton faces too many 3rd and longs and gets blitzed into oblivion. From that point on we play ball control and call a conservative game, grinding it out on the ground and letting the D win it for us. Ramsey throws an interception that gets run back for a TD, just so we have a QB controversy continue in DC. Come on, can you really see this town without a QB controversy? But that's the only TD the Bears put up. They get a field goal... maybe. jermus22 09-08-2005, 05:03 PM I'm apt to change my prediction and agree with you Schneed. It could end up being a real surprise if Chicago's offense actually puts up more than 3 to 6 points against us. TheMalcolmConnection 09-08-2005, 05:17 PM Yeah, I seriously don't think the Bears O will put up more than a field goal or two. Now Ramsey throwing an INT for a TD, THAT'S another story. I'm trusting him and I think that he'll come out shining. |
