What's going on down there is amazing. It's really disturbing to see how out of control things are and how slow the relief efforts have been. Do your part and pitch in a few bucks, they're going to need all the help they can get.

If you want to see how there was so much distruction go to msnbc.com and watch the video that two guys took. They are storm chasers and the video is unreal how fast the storm surge came in.

Does anyone know if I could send a check directly to the red cross? I dont have money on my debit card to send, and want to help out at least somewhat.

Check out redcross.org (http://www.redcross.org/)

I'm sure they'll take donations of any type

I would suggest getting in touch with the Red Cross right now. Find out about sending clothing if available. I was listening to a representative from the Better Busines Bureau on CNN who warned people about giving money to telemarketers and internet websites because a lot of scam artists capitalize off of others misery. When asked about sending clothing to the victims, he actually said, well I would wait to see what it is that the people need. What the people need. 1. Food 2. Water 2.Clothing 3.Medical Services 4.Housing Maybe he didn't see any of the news coverage.

I spoke with the Red Cross and they tell me that they cannot accept any food or clothing, due to personnel, time, and distribution issues. Just so you all know
