I hate thinking about the cowboys as much as the rest of you but I think this is important since its an in-division team.

Isn't he the one who had a cast on his hand for a while and was using it as a club? I think it's pretty odd, yet kewl, that the Cowboys would be willing to let there weak o-line get weaker with this cut. Sure he's obviously on the decline, but it's like they have someone as good or better to fill the spot. I can't wait to see Gibbs first game against the cowpies and and his former arch-rival Parcels. I read on a post report the 2 teams might be playing a monday night game sometime in either october or november.

If he were a Redskin I'd be yelling to kick him out the door too. Not only does he seem to never want to play, he also is refusing to show up to training camp. He's had a great career, but it's nearly over. It's a shame for us though!

Larry Allen is one of the greatest O-linemen of all time.

His career is nearly over.....how long before Al Davis calls him?

Allen was a horrible player last year getting a huge salary. He has taken a load of abuse over the years, and is not an NFL caliber player anymore. Be thankful this didn't happen last year (before he was exposed), we would have signed him.

Yes. Let's pray it is not us! He's the O-Line equivalent of Bruce Smith. Hall of famers both but well past any legitimate roster use and locker room me-firsters.

It was not his ability, it was his health. He was basically playing all last year on one leg, and still he was invited to the ProBowl by his peers. That says alot.
His knee might be shot...I don't know. But he showed some real toughness to finish out the year.

Was it his peers, or was it the fans? Present company excluded, most sports fans are dumb enough to vote a retiree into the Pro Bowl, if they recognize his name (see Johnson, Magic).
