I hope Rich Parson makes the Practice Squad...he had several good returns in the 2nd half last night, and I'm biased because he's a local product.

Andy Groom has been crucial this preseason. If he hasn't excelled as much, I don't think they would have put Tupa on the IR.

Farris looked good last night, but I'll agree with those who say he'll be on the practice squad...

I think Farris is probably practice squad

As for Groom, the fact that they had him there at the end to hold for Hall's kick probably was the surest sign that he's our man

yeah, I didn't understand what Theismann was talking about. Hasn't Groom held for both Chandler and Hall the entire preseason?

I definiely agree. Groom has shown he has a huge leg. The directional kicking will come with time. I'd rather have someone who can consistently get 45-50+ yard punts even though they might not be able to pin someone deep, than someone who MAYBE gets 40 if they're lucky.

groom's a lock, farris will be lucky to make the practice squad, same with parsons... they'd just be insurance in case of dire need. the competition they were playing was crap, so it not like they'd have any shot at real playing time (again, barring injuries).

I liked dyson'ss awareness in the 2minute drill... too bad he's not that good as a WR... I'm pretty sure he'll be long gone soon.

mohr looked bad punting, no boom, no hangtime = short kicks with good returns on them.

Honestly, I wouldn't say Dyson has been that BAD as a WR. It just doesn't seem like the ball is ever thrown his way.

maybe cuz Dyson doesn't get open against younger quicker dbs?

Thankfully, it looks like most of us are reeling ourselves in with Farris. Good performance, but let's get a hold of ourselves. Maybe the practice squad for Farris ... MAYBE.

I hope he doesn't turn out to be another Justin Skaggs. Man, the way some of us were talking about him, you'd think they'd have started a petition to begin carving Skaggs' bust in Canton. And where has he been lately?

Why didn't Gibbs take a look at Farris as a returner last night? He's possibly more valuable than Brown, though not as dangerous, but speed isn't everything in this league. Groom is a keeper. :oink:

Well, since you asked (http://www.arenafootball.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=19875&SPID=1559&QUERY_TEAM_ID=3640&DB_OEM_ID=3500&ATCLID=109811&Q_SEASON=2005)...

Just 370 yards receiving! That's kind of embarrassing for Arena Football, that's like just one quarter of play.
