The Washington Post is reporting that Manuel White suffered a fractured fibula in the overtime loss to the Ravens yesterday. White, who has seen limited action in the preseason, was the Redskins fourth round draft pick in this past draft.

If he was in pencil on your active roster, be thankful for erasers.

I think this is for the best. Not that he's hurt, but that he makes the team. He hopefully will learn alot while he's rehabbing. Best of luck to White and hopefully he'll be back next season competing for Nemo and Cartwright's job as a short yardage back.

I agree. White had not played his way onto the team - if he had made it, it was on the potential he showed when he was drafted. This opens up a slot for someone who actually played his way onto the team.
I hope Manny heals up so he can contend for a spot next year.

This may make it easier for the staff to keep both Rock and Nemo.
White will be back next year.

This is a good point. It saves the team the embarassment of practice squading or cutting a 4th round draft pick, who simply hasn't shown he is capable of playing in this league yet.

He was drafted to be an Hback project. I wasn't really suprised to not see him get much playing time this year and fully expected him to not make the team and be put on the practice squad. I think he was having trouble adapting to lining up on the line of scrimmage.

well he wasn't expected to make a huge impact, but he'll be back next year. at least it frees up a roster spot.

when i heard the news I immediately thought, "well, at least now he'll make the team"
Injuries suck, but I don't think keeping him otherwise would have been a very easy decision since he hasn't shown anything in practices or games. Same thing happened to tupa too though, his trip to IR made another tough decision very easy.
